Our show is exactly what the title implies--it's a show about "The Good Life." Every week on Smokin' & Toastin', Ian Barry and Cruze taste and talk about craft beers, distinctive distilled spirits and fine cigars. Ian and Cruze approach these classic diversions with the passion and curiosity of two semi-normal guys on an adventurous path of discovery and knowledge. And if that quest mandates that they must drink, eat, smoke and socialize, then so be it.

Hilarious and informative

Absolutely love this show! Great content, solid reviews, funny guys, enjoyable guests.

System Rocks ,

Too repetitive

I’d like to give this podcast a higher rating. They have great guests and the topics (booze and cigars) are right up my alley. But there are a few issues I can’t get past: 1) Please stop commenting on the episode number and how “no one has stopped us yet”. The joke was fine for an episode or maybe the 100th episode. But not every single week. It is redundant and overused. 2). Similar remark about the “competition” on number of appearances between Kris Hart and the other guy. No one cares about this except the hosts; as if it’s some sort of honor or privilege to be on the show. Just have interesting guests and move on. No reason to fill air time with this. 3) While there have been just a few times wherein negative reviews are shared, overwhelmingly you guys just love every single product talked about. It would be nice to have more honest assessments so that your listeners don’t spend money on mediocre products just because you hyped them up. Overall I will continue to listen via podcasts because of the show’s potential. But please consider reducing the repetition of jokes, guests and topics. UPDATE: on this week’s episode the guys referenced my review. However, instead of handling constructive criticism like professionals they scoffed at my feedback. That’s fine: they didn’t specifically ask for input although iTunes allows users to provide it if we choose. I’m not going to change my rating, bash this show or stop listening. If they want to make improvements which I thought were reasonable, great. If not their consumers will decide if this show is worth listening to or not. Also to be very clear: I did not say that “no one cares about Kris Hart or Alan Denny”. I listen to Kris’s show and like it a lot. I said that no one cares about the competition around number of appearances on this show. In fact, this reinforces my complaint about repetitiveness. Rather than take feedback, the hosts purposely misquoted me to belittle my opinion. Whatever. Good luck growing the show when every episode is the same format and content. Update #2: I challenge you to listen to 5 consecutive weeks of this show and tell me it’s not repetitive. The same tired jokes, especially from Cruze. I listen to daily radio shows that have more variety and creativity and here is a weekly show that can’t seem to diversify its content. Even basic stuff like the bumper music is the same EVERY episode. On top of it all, they get 1 critical review and cannot stop whining about it. Cruze in particular has such an obviously fragile ego to not take any criticism whatsoever. I’m willing to give my contact information to own up to this criticism too, so don’t think I’m a troll looking for attention. I’m trying to give constructive criticism to help the show’s appeal because I still think the format has potential. But for crying out loud be professional and not so immature about what (I’m trying) to make constructive criticism. Update #3: how is it that kristopher hart can get high profile guests like TJ Miller and dolph lundgren and this show gets the same 3 guests over and over???
