Week 16 NFL Game-by-game breakdown for FanDuel and DraftKings

It's a strange week, with a lot of unknowns heading into the holiday weekend. We're hoping that teams and reporters are as sharp with reporting as usual, but that's certainly not clear at this point. For starters, a lot of viable DFS offenses are going up against tough defenses, and when you combine that with the fact that it's a shorter slate than usual the pickings are somewhat slim. The guys have their eye on the KC/ATL game, which should be a shootout that also has some injury implications. The potential absence of Julio Jones and/or Tyreek Hill could open up some serious DFS value. Some other great teams to target this week include Chicago and Houston, and after that there appears to be a significant fall off. There are a number of total stay-away teams, like the Jets, Jaguars, Bengals, Giants, and Broncos. There are teams with reasonable skill options with no consistent plan for getting them the ball in Philly, Dallas, and Carolina. The Rams/Seahawks has a high total, but the last two times these teams met it amounted to precious little fantasy production. Tune in as Doug and James try to find the diamonds in the rough in a tough week 16 of NFL DFS. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Week 16 Cash Game Plays for FanDuel and DraftKings

There are a lot of interesting questions for cash games this week, starting at quarterback. Can we start Jalen Hurts after two good weeks, or should we be concerned about the low completion percentage? Would Deshaun Watson just be a safer play at similar prices? Is it insane to go super-cheap at QB on DK and play Trubisky? The guys weigh the pros and cons of each. Running back features two easy plays in David Montgomery and Le'Veon Bell, but after that, there are a number of situations to keep an eye on. You've got the potential absence of Ezekiel Elliott, a bizarre QB situation in WAS (which impacts JD McKissic), and more. You'll want to tune in tomorrow for an in-depth look at the position on a game by game basis. Wide receiver has good plays at every price point, as usual, with headliners like Calvin Ridley and Tyreek Hill, mid-range options like Brandin Cooks and Jarvis Landry, and even some punt plays lurking in LA if Keenan Allen sits. Week 15 NFL Game-by-game breakdown for FanDuel and DraftKings

While there are a number of clear plays this week, there is no shortage of close calls. How do we pick between running backs coming off of big weeks, with a relatively short track record of that performance? How do we rank Jonathan Taylor, Miles Sanders, and even Alvin Kamara? Could we take a speculative look at JD McKissic? What about the Tampa Bay running back situation? After the obvious Derrick Henry and Cam Akers plays, things get hairy in a hurry. The guys also discuss how the perception of plays like Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray is changing. Can we trust either given that their carries seem to be headed back in the right direction or should we be more concerned with their larger body of work? They also discuss a number of lingering injury situations, a few surprise cheap options, and more! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Week 15 NFL Cash game plays for FanDuel and DraftKings

Quarterback comes down to a decision between Lamar Jackson in the best possible match-up with the Jags, and a host of cheap guys in interesting match-ups. The guys discuss the pros and cons of paying up for a known commodity or trying to ride the upside of a cheaper option like Jalen Hurts. Running back features two obvious plays in Cam Akers and Derrick Henry, and a whole lot of question marks after that. Doug and James discuss a few of the other potential options while acknowledging that you might be waiting until later in the week to solidify a third running back. Wide receiver offers Brandon Aiyuk and Michael Thomas as a nice one-two punch at the top of the position, with a few cheap punt options to consider after that. Can we depend on the cheap Dolphins receivers if Parker misses this week? The guys discuss whether we've seen enough to think about it. Tight end basically comes down to Kelce or bust, with even the reasonable cheap options carrying question marks. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Week 14 NFL Game-by-game breakdown for FanDuel and DraftKings

As is typical in 2020, this week has gotten a lot more interesting as time has gone on. We have a number of wide receivers in Carolina headed to the COVID-IR, which has opened up some value there. Christian McCaffrey has been ruled out, which opens up Mike Davis as a value option. There are some core strategic discussions for this week as well. If we can only pay up at one spot, should we pick Davante Adams or Derrick Henry? Is it reasonable to run Devontae Booker out there again if Josh Jacobs were to miss another week? Can we really trust Aaron Jones in a great match-up with Detroit given that Jamal Williams is still lurking? And what do we make of running backs who could be poised for a lot of opportunity in potentially weird game scripts, like Myles Gaskin, James Robinson, or Dalvin Cook? This is a tricky week, so make sure to tune in as the DFSR team breaks it all down. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Week 14 NFL Cash game plays for FanDuel and DraftKing

It's a weird week for DFS, with very little value to support paying up at some key positions. Doug and James break down how lineups might look different this week than usual. Can we consider going cheap with Jalen Hurts on DraftKings, or should we just pay up for a safer option like Russell Wilson? Running back is odd as well, with Derrick Henry being the obvious big money play and a bunch of question marks after that. We have James Robinson and Myles Gaskin, but both of them are 7+ point underdogs. Aaron Jones has a great projected game script, but he's likely in a timeshare once again. We're basically just hoping for value to crop up later in the week at this point. Wide receiver is the first position that presents us with exciting options, with both Michael Thomas and Brandon Aiyuk looking comically under-priced at this point. The position rounds out nicely with the Houston situation, and even Corey Davis is AJ Brown were to miss this week. At tight end, we're basically deciding between Travis Kelce, Mike Gesicki, and possibly Anthony Firkser. Right now it looks like our optimizer is prioritizing Kelce, but that could change as the week develops. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

  7. 12/04/2020

Week 13 NFL Game-by-game breakdown for FanDuel and DraftKings

The NFL is nothing if not strange right now, with COVID causing us to have a tightened schedule for Sunday's games. As a result, we have a thinner slate than usual to draw our plays from. Quarterback presents some interesting options, all with their own flaws, with Russell Wilson, Justin Herbert, and Taysom Hill leading the pack for us right now. Running back has one automatic play in Austin Ekeler, and then several speculative options. Dalvin Cook will be highly owned if he gets a clean bill of health, but after that, we're monitoring a number of situations to see if any cheap value springs loose. Wide receiver is probably the best value spot of the week, with Michael Thomas and Brandin Cooks being far too cheap for their current opportunity, and even guys like Keke Coutee if you want to go deep into punts. Tight end gives us decent midrange options in Hunter Henry and Evan Engram, and little else, so it looks like that position is fairly locked in right now. Learn more about your ad choices.
