The Mysterious Old Radio Listening Society Podcast revisits the great horror and suspense shows from the golden age of radio, including tales from Suspense, Lights Out Everybody, The Witch’s Tale, The Shadow, and more. Each episode features a classic, or maybe-not-so classic story from the scary old-time radio vault, complete with historical notes and nerdy trivia. Three archetypes and a story
Joshua the scholar, Tim the everyman, and Eric the village idiot provide commentary and historic background to a curated selection of old time radio programs. Very enjoyable.
Ugh
The original Shows are great but the annoying commentary by moe curly and Larry ruin it!! I tried to listen a few times but the three stooges ruined it for me
Great to hear background and discussion!
I found this a couple of months ago and have been listening from the beginning and am now into the 2019 episodes. I have loved Old Radio horror and mysteries since I was a kid trying to keep my AM radio tuned in to hear Lights Out in the middle of the night when I should have been asleep. I have found a few podcasts that offer a lot of these old broadcasts and have enjoyed them all, but what I found most enjoyable about this podcast is the discussion and background given along with the old recording. To get a bit of the background and history surrounding the shows and hearing more about the actors and artists has made these shows so much more enjoyable and interesting. Thank you guys for this! I am so looking forward to hearing more and more!
