George Pickens’ run-blocking effort sparks a debate: did Brian Schottenheimer really call out the Cowboys wide receiver, or simply identify a coaching point? The discussion breaks down Pickens’ impact on safeties and cornerbacks, his effort against Green Bay, and why the criticism feels mild compared with classic Bill Parcells-style accountability. Javonte Williams’ role also comes under the microscope. The Cowboys running back excels in short-yardage, red-zone work, pass protection, and turning one-yard gains into three, but Dallas needs more explosive runs, a reliable RB2, and perhaps a late-round trade for Tony Pollard. On defense, Cobie Durant and DeMarvion Overshown could provide needed reinforcements, while Jalen Thompson and P.J. Locke remain sidelined. With Philadelphia ahead, a backup quarterback and backup offensive line across from them, can the Cowboys finally deliver a complete defensive performance?
