    February 15, 2026: MSU returns home for a two game stand on Tuesday night starting with UCLA. The Bruins are a game back from Michigan State in the standings but have to be a little disappointed with how the season has gone so far. Highly vaunted prospect, Donovan Dent, who the Spartans faced in the second round of the tournament last year was supposed to be the missing point guard part the Bruins would need to be on the next level.     Wisconsin Pummels MSU 92-71 in Madison

    February 13, 2026: If MSU wasn’t superstitious about Friday the 13th, maybe they will be now as the Spartans got hammered by the Badgers on Friday night in Madison, 92-71. Easily the worst performance of the season for Michigan State and one where the game tape should just be thrown out. Wisconsin dominated in just about every facet of the game. On offense, defense, the boards, turnovers, second chance points. Just an absolute obliteration. Fortunately for MSU, they return back to the friendly confines of the Breslin Center for a much needed two game home stand where they will take on UCLA and Ohio State. With the loss, MSU falls into a jumble of teams with 4 conference losses and has almost certainly been knocked out of contending for a repeat Big Ten championship. The Spartans are now playing for NCAA tournament and Big Ten tournament seeding (although they likely have little interest in having a deep run in the Big Ten Tournament).     February 12, 2026: Michigan State heads to Madison on Friday night to try and get a win streak up and going against a very tricky Badger squad. Wisconsin is coming off a huge OT win in Champaign on Tuesday night and currently possesses the best pair of road wins in the league at both Illinois and Michigan. MSU still has an outside chance at a Big Ten title but it almost certainly requires a win here. These Badgers don’t look a lot like prior Wisconsin teams as this one plays at a very high tempo and struggles on the defensive end of the floor. However, there are some staples of rebounding and bigs who can stretch the floor.     MSU Beats Illinois 85-82 in Epic OT Battle

    February 7, 2026: As for the game, we’re pretty sure Jeremy fears will drift into a coma for a few days after playing 42 1/2 minutes. But he was sensational especially down the stretch where he scored 9 points in overtime. MSU of course, trailed at half by 4 and then quickly found themselves down 9. But they kept following their game plan and battled back to keep it within one or two possessions the entire second half. Even briefly taking the lead. Then at the end of regulation they went up two on a huge 3 from Kur Teng after a big Kohler offensive board off a Teng miss. But two huge fouls shots by Davis with one second sent us to OT. And there MSU just sort of took over. Or more specifically, Jeremy Fears did. And MSU went up 6 with one minute to go and held on for the 85-82 win to keep their slim Big Ten title hopes alive.     February 5, 2026: Michigan State is coming off their first back to back losses of the season and returns home to meet the red hot Illini. Illinois just finished tearing apart their intrastate foe, Northwestern, by 40 in Champaign and are looking for another scalp. MSU’s Big Ten title hopes are on life support and this is a game that they absolutely need. Adding intrigue to this game is the lineup situation for MSU. As of the recording, we did not have an injury status for Divine Ugochukwu but our expectation is that he is out for at least this game if not more. On top of that, Jeremy Fears is embroiled in controversy about his flagrant foul last night and a sudden reputation as a dirty player that began with Dusty May’s press conference where he called out Fears. Now can Fears navigate his way to playing hard without giving the refs a reason to T him up and can MSU survive the minutes that he will be forced to rest with second backup point guard Denham Wojcik?     MSU Falls to Minnesota 76-73

    February 4, 2026: Our first key to this game was to not let one become two but MSU just did that as they fell to the Gophers, 76-73 in a game that wasn’t that close. Minnesota outplayed the Spartans on both ends of the court and despite the game getting close at the end - really cruised in with a win to break their 7 game losing streak. Jordan Scott started the game at the 2 and played reasonably well. Unfortunately, his play was overshadowed by the overall play of the team on both ends and the foot injury to back up point guard Divine Ugochukwu.
