    Lance Hoppen joined Orleans in 1972 with his brother Larry before they released their debut album. By 1976 they had two top hits with "Dance with Me" and "Still the One". Since 76 the band has fallen apart, and reformed, fizzled out and sprung back to life more times than is worth counting. But over the last 14 years Lance has been leading the band playing great shows around the country. Orleans is getting ready to play the Florida Theater on Friday July 24th and before they do Lance was nice enough to stop by the show! Lance and Doc talk about growing up playing the clarinet, seeing the Beatles, switching over to the bass, joining Orleans when he was 18, recording "Still the One", touring with Jackson Browne, playing Boston in '77 in front of 150,000 people, playing Woodstock '94 in front of 150,000 people and releasing a new album!     Ronnie Platt has loved music for his entire life, and up until 2014 he was living a double life. He was driving a truck for the first 8 hours of the day and then he was lead singing in a band for the second 8 hours of the day. But then in 2014 something happened that completely changed his life, Steve Walsh retired from Kansas. All of a sudden the legendary band Kansas needed a new lead singer. The band that brought the world Carry On Wayward Son, Dust In the Wind, Point of No Return and so many other hits needed a singer. Ronnie took a chance and decided to Facebook message their guitarist, just a couple weeks later he was leading them out onstage in Oklahoma City. Ronnie has been leading Kansas now for more than a decade all across the country and rocking millions of fans along the way. He's also recorded two studio albums with Kansas since 2014. Kansas is back on the road and they're gonna be in Florida the 8th and 9th of August! Ronnie was nice enough to stop by the show and talk a while. Doc and Ronnie talk about getting out on the road in a bus with Kansas, first playing music, playing the trumpet, switching over to trombone, finding prog rock, loving rock singers like Lou Gramm and Geddy Lee, working as a truck driver, getting hired by Kansas, finding younger fans who love Kansas and much much more!     Noah has been releasing songs for 2 years and in that time he's already got millions of people's attention. At just 21 years old Noah has carved a name for himself in his own genre - grunge folk. His songs Take Me Away and P.O.S. have tallied millions of streams over the last month on streaming services. Ahead of releasing a new EP, Noah was nice enough to stop by the show!     Monica Valli has been playing the guitar since she was 8 years old. She put it down for 6 years but then picked it back up around 14 (possibly because of Bon Jovi) and has never put it back down. She's toured around the country as a touring guitarist for years, but just in the last two years she's started to put her own music out into the world. Her most recent single "Turns Out It Wasn't Me" came out just a couple of months ago, and she's planning on releasing new music soon. She was nice enough to come on the show and talk about her career up to this point. Doc and Monica talk about her wedding, starting to play the guitar, playing at Cheers in St. Louis, going to Berklee, moving to Nashville, being a touring musician, moving to Austin, starting to sing, song writing, Lord of the Rings and much much more.     The Butthole Surfers started way back in 1981 with Gibby Haynes and Paul Leary started a band. They quickly grew a reputation in Texas and throughout the country as one of the most provocative and outlandish bands in the country. They had a massive influence on contemporary artists like Kurt Cobain, White Zombie, and Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. They hit massive success with their album electriclarryland and the single Pepper. After the success of their album they had a follow album After the Astronaut, but because of disputes with their record label and problems with their manager they never were able to release it until now. The band is planning on releasing it June 26th 2026. Before the album is released Paul was nice enough to come on the show!
