I have listened to many podcasts. Far more than any one man should. And on my audio travels I came across this little show; "You Should Watch".
Immediately my interests were peaked, my mouth became dry, and the hair on the back of my neck began to stand as a thousand tiny scarecrows awaiting the coming of the fall harvest.
Within moments of starting to break down this diamond in the rough of audio excellence, it was clear only the most refined taste could enjoy what was laid out before me.
Movies. Cinema. Moving pictures. For years have been paired with the simple treats of corn has had indeed been popped and pop that indeed has no corn in it, but it bubbles and tingles on your tongue.
No simple treats can compare to "You Should Watch". Immediately I took to my car and began my journey to the store. All the while, the charming voices of two good friends, nay, soul mates, danced through my cars tooth of blue.
The store held many items for me to ponder, but my mind could only ponder the cinema in my ears.
I was transported to another world.
I felt flushed.
Out of breath.
This is when I decided to walk around the store and not run.
I grabbed what I needed to prepare a dish so spicy and appetizing that it would be worthy of being compared to this podcast.
Why are here?
Why does a baby smile?
What really happens when we split an atom?
These are just questions.
I returned home to my house in flames.
I ran to the kitchen to see the fiery figure of a woman brandishing a broken mason jar full of gasoline.
All the while the words of Shaft were softly spoken into my ear.
I attacked this demon from hell with a nearby spatula.
As we fought the house collapsed around us. She told me my greatest fears, insecurities, and about how my lost loved ones were forced to watch Charlie Chaplin films blindfolded for all eternity.
Chris continued to mention vile acts with newborns.
I slit her throat and drank her blood out of a glass like it was a fine wine paired with my spicy meal.
The podcast ended.
There I laid dying in the ashes.
Stomach full of blood and spice.
But not as much as spice as the love between Joe and Chris.
