Special Kamikaze Unit – Ep. 0: “Intro to Crit Squad”

Special Kamikaze Unit – Ep. 0: “Intro to Crit Squad”

It’s probably hard to find sympathy in your hearts for a bunch of career criminals. But c’mon, it’s not like you wage slaves are gonna change anything about the world either, right?
In this stylized, action-packed, live-play RPG show, five career criminals wake up in prison with bags on their heads and bombs in their brains. Will they follow orders and do as their told (probably not) or will they get those bombs out of their noggins and go on to Run another day? Realistically, that’s a big ol’ probably not on that last one too—In fact it’s unlikely anyone will survive. But we don’t know, because we haven’t played it yet!
Oh, and, uh…maybe don’t listen to this one out loud at work. Or around your kids. Or…y’know…
…the point is there are lots of swears.

Need more Crit Squad

Easily one of the best Shadowrun podcasts out there. The only problem: they haven’t put anything out in such a long time! I’m on my 3rd listen in as many years, and am missing the incredible folks who put this wonderful story together.

An absolute gem, an instant classic

There are very few podcasts that marry actual-play improv and audio drama formats this well. The characters are superb, the actors are incredible, and the story Austin Rusk weaves around player stories is fresh, engaging, and emotional.

Did I mention the editing? Holy wow! The music, the pacing, the audio effects make it so incredibly cinematic, that this is better than any audiobook I’ve ever listened to.

Season 3 is just a masterpiece in story telling.

Just stop reading and go listen to it. Why are you still here?

Shadow run is BONKERS.

Great storytelling and a lot of great characters! Sound quality and editing is particularly good.
