OilersNation Network’s “keeping it real” podcast. Listening to this podcast gives you an inside look/hear at the personalities and events that make up the OilersNation staff. There is some Oilers talk but mostly the vibe of the show is a rotating cast of friends talking about what’s going on in their lives. As a listener who has spent time with some of them a few times, the people you hear are the people they are. It isn’t exaggerated for entertainment purposes. It’s rarely heavy with seriousness, baggedmilk often sees to that, and has no established segments. It’s guys talking often over Nation Everyday Lager. Sometimes it’s what’s going on in their house. Sometimes it is a peek into the behind the scenes of the Nation Network. It is always entertaining. There are some NationCitizens who stand by the claim that RealLife is the best Nation podcast and they never miss a show or a laugh.

Remember the good ol’ days? Back when you’d pull up next to someone at a stoplight and you notice they’re listening to the same raucous radio morning show? You’d look over and smile, and they’d nod back, and you’d both know you were plugged into something bigger than yourselves? A communal sort of bond? You’d feel like you really knew the personalities telling the off-color jokes and making those real life (pun intended) observations? You’d laugh, you’d learn, and then you’d get all pumped up when the discussion turned to your favorite sports team? You’d still be listening when you arrived at your destination, and sit in your car another five…ten…fifteen minutes, just to hear what happened next? That’s this podcast, only with 238% more piss talk. (I’m from the US, so most shows include SOME sort of piss talk. It’s actually required by the FCC.) Great crew, unmatched chemistry, and laughs for days and days. The greatest morning show in modern memory. Long may they reign.

Being an Oilers fan in Rhode Island is tough, but you all are the reason I keep hanging on. McDavid, Nuge, Draisaitl…whoever the players are, may come and go, but listening to your show is the highlight of my week. I just wish you were on more often!
