Huzzah! After 14 days, the first draft of my next book has been completed. Nearly 80,000 words written, and now the real fun (rolleyes emoji) starts. Hear my thoughts and feelings as I wrap up the WatchMeWrite project. Also, listen for the next steps and how you can get your hands on the book itself in 2017. Bonus chat: Building a profitable company, one support request at a time

I chatted with Gavin Zuchlinksi, founder of Acuity Scheduling, about growing a software product he built for his Mom's business, to a profitable company that employs 15 people. Gavin and I talk about where Acuity Scheduling got started, when he knew it was time to leave his 9-5 job to work on it full-time, and how he's built having fun into his business model. Day 10-12 - When life sh*ts on your face

Talk about dealing with some distractions! I thought Day 8 was a tough one, but Day 10 really tested me. Waking up to loud construction, a migraine headache, and an overall lack of energy, it was a tough writing day. I took Day 11 off to recharge my batteries and take care of my mind and body. Day 12 was a much more productive day, bringing me to 74,000 total words written! Only two more writing days left on http://watchmewrite.co sponsored by http://withcoach.com/jason and http://acuityscheduling.com/write

    Day 8 & 9 - Blame the cinnamon rolls!

As it turns out I am human and I do, in fact, need breaks. I knew Day 8 was going to be challenging, and I 100% blame the cinnamon rolls. I had to sacrifice something to keep my sanity (and energy) at the end of the day. Listen to me talk about making that decision and that I'm closing in on 60,000 words - wahoo! Day 7 - I'm allergic to resistance

It's one thing when your girlfriend brings up your ability to avoid resistance, but it's an entire other story when someone from clear across the world who just found WatchMeWrite notices the same thing. In this episode, I try to unpack my thoughts about my allergy to resistance. I also recap Day 7's writing, hitting 7,000 words today! Be sure to check out the two sponsors of this project: http://withcoach.com/jason and http://acuityscheduling.com/write - - Also, I'm living writing from 9am - 1pm PST on http://watchmewrite.co until the book is done

Bonus chat: What happens when you have 300 phone calls with customers?

What does it take to build an online product and get people to pay for it? What happens when you have 300 phone calls with customers? How do founders deal with the comparison traps of their previous successes? Have a listen to this informal chat with Spencer Fry, Founder of http://withcoach.com/jason - Coach is a sponsor of the WatchMeWrite project and podcast.

Day 6 - Uh oh, things went wrong

Yep, it happened. The first technical glitch of WatchMeWrite. It was bound to happen. Today I (temporarily) lost nearly 4,000 words of writing after someone hacked the live editor I write in. Luckily we have redundant backups and my developer Zack was able to recover the temporarily lost words. Hear my thoughts about this situation and how I dealt with it during the live writing hours. Then, check out http://withcoach.com/jason an http://acuityscheduling.com/write - - the two sponsors of WatchMeWrite.

Day 5 - What does my editor think?

Today's episode features a discussion with my book editor Lizzie Vance. Lizzie helped with my first book, Creativity For Sale, and gives her thoughts and feedback compared to my writing from 3 years ago. We also talk about the over-saturation of storytelling and my weird metaphors. Enjoy this daily journal entry while I write my second book and be sure to check out http://withcoach.com/jason and http://acuityscheduling.com/write - support the sponsors of this project! I'm writing live from 9am - 1pm PST until December 17 at http://watchmewrite.co

Day 4 - 23,377 words written in just four days

23,377 words in four days? Not too shabby! I'm averaging just under 6,000 words per day and have no clue if that will continue or not. For now, it's a great start and I know I'll be throwing a ton of those words away in the revision process. In this episode I answered a question from WatchMeWrite viewer Daniel Yeomans about how I have the energy for this project and what I'm sacrificing to make it happen. Enjoy that, some other thoughts, and then check out the sponsors of this project: http://withcoach.com/jason and http://acuityscheduling.com/write - - Daily writing hours are 9am - 1pm PST at http://watchmewrite.co
