The Soundtrack Of Surgeries (Episode 3)

Did you know surgeons listen to music during operations? But it’s not just any music -- it has to have a certain feel to it. The music that surgeons listen to in the operating room helps determine the atmosphere. “Every jar has a lid,” says Dr. David Okonkwo, a neurosurgeon at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. What he means is that every surgeon has specific genres and artists they will or will not listen to in the OR. Music in this episode provided by Esbe and Gideon Conn.
