Which Version of Our Bi-Polar Team Shows Up?

"𝘛𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘺𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘢𝘮𝘦. 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘍𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘯𝘰 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵. 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬 𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 3 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴. 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘪-𝘱𝘰𝘭𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘶𝘱." Ron was talking about his kids' baseball team. Naturally, we took it personally. Because whether we're talking about the Cubs, Cardinals, Bears, Newcastle, Villa, or the podcast itself, the same question applies: Which version is showing up tonight? The version that gives us reason to believe? The version that makes us question why we do this to ourselves? The version that looks competent for just long enough to get our hopes up before making us regret having them? (And then there's St. Louis CITY SC, which has apparently decided to sit this particular existential crisis out. For now.) Join Ron, Elliott, and Pete as we talk about the MLB postseason, catch up on the latest sporting developments, and examine the familiar cycle of hope and disappointment, all while attempting to determine whether we're in for a quick, productive evening or another two-and-a-half-hour exercise in emotional endurance. No time limit. No guarantees. No reason to believe we've learned anything. 📺 Watch the Livestream: YouTube | Rumble | Facebook | X 📌 Follow: @TeamOfRivalsPod | Elliott @ToR_Elliott | Ron @ToR_Ron75 | @TheParkSTL 📧 Email: TeamOfRivalsPodcast@gmail.com

    Where'd You Go? (Part I)

After two weeks away, the Team of Rivals Podcast is back, and apparently we had a lot to get off our collective chest. So much, in fact, that this one ran well over two hours. (Lucky you, we broke it up into two episodes.) We start with some of the non-statistical good stories that actually matter: videos from Justin Verlander's and Max Scherzer's final games, Case Keenum and his daughter, and Payton Tolle's immaculate inning. Then we turn our attention to the Milwaukee Brewers and their inexplicable Devil Magic, which we would like to formally request they return to its original owner, the St. Louis Cardinals. We discuss the ends of the Cubs' and Cardinals' seasons, what comes next with a looming MLB lockout, and Ron's increasingly tenuous relationship with Major League Baseball, including his growing desire for a full-scale lockout that burns the whole thing down and starts over. On the bright side… we get irrationally excited about the Chicago Bears! Buckle up for this week's Soccer Minute, which is considerably longer than a minute this week. (But not in this episode, because we're going to release that later this week!) Three weeks away. Over two hours of catching up. We have absolutely no idea where the time went. 📺 Watch the Livestream: YouTube | Rumble 📺 Watch the "Full Yap" Livestream: YouTube | Rumble | Facebook | X 📌 Follow: @TeamOfRivalsPod | Elliott @ToR_Elliott | Ron @ToR_Ron75 | @TheParkSTL 📧 Email: TeamOfRivalsPodcast@gmail.com

The Men You Love to Hate

Pete Crow-Armstrong is on an absolutely ridiculous heater, and Cubs fans are loving every second of it. Everyone else? Not so much. This week, the Team of Rivals crew tackles the men you love to hate — from PCA and Yadier Molina to Dodgers owner Mark Walter and Alexander Isak. We get into why PCA has quickly become the kind of player opposing fans can't stand but would absolutely love to have on their own team, and whether his Mets-to-Cubs journey is turning into one of the worst organizational misses in recent memory. Then there's Mark Walter and the Dodgers, including the questions surrounding the team's broadcasting arrangement, ownership, MLB's role in approving it, and Shohei Ohtani's unusual contract situation. On the soccer side, we dig into Alexander Isak's ugly Newcastle exit, whether he's really a fit for Liverpool, and the growing comparison between Isak and Kyle Tucker. Meanwhile, St. Louis City has gone from the bottom of the table to an unbeaten run — despite selling two of its best players — and Newcastle has somehow opened the Premier League season with four points after everyone seemingly expected disaster. Plus: VAR frustration, the Bears' ongoing stadium saga, fútbol fantasy, and the most perfectly forgotten fifth suspect imaginable. It's another episode of Team of Rivals (and apparently At the Park STL, too). 📺 Watch the Livestream: YouTube | Rumble | Facebook | X 📌 Follow: @TeamOfRivalsPod | Elliott @ToR_Elliott | Ron @ToR_Ron75 | @TheParkSTL 📧 Email: TeamOfRivalsPodcast@gmail.com
