S3 E6: Comedy in Iceland with Thor and Eggert

Show notes: In early May of 2024, I spent a week in the beautiful country of Iceland!  I had the opportunity to wrangle myself on to some local stand-up comedy shows there, where I met a bunch of people from the local scene.  After one show I sat down in a pub with two of the country’s leading professional comics, Eggert Smári Sigurðsson and Þórhallur Þórhallsson.  They gave me the lowdown on Icelandic comedy—which I share with you in today’s episode of the Comical Heathen podcast.  This show also includes guest cohost Jeff Gedert.  We talk a little about my time in Iceland (including the puffins!) as well as setting up some of the background to the interview.  This episode includes a special PSA on the subject of cults.   Eggert Smári’s Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/eggert.sigurdsson Þórhallur Þórhallsson (aka Thor) on X:  https://twitter.com/thorhallur83 Comedy in Iceland website: https://comedyiniceland.com/ Former Mayor Jón Gnarr on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%B3n_Gnarr Find the Comical Heathen on Facebook:    https://www.facebook.com/comicalheathen Our website:  https://comicalheathen.com/ Email us with comments or questions: comicalheathen@gmail.com This is an ad-free and independently produced podcast.  Please consider donating via this link (to our other podcast):  https://www.goldstarclassroom.com/ Get a Comical Heathen coffee mug at Jerry's merch shop:https://www.etsy.com/shop/JerryJaffeComedyShop?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=624456037 Additional background music courtesy of Musopen
