Bible Bibs and a Prayer Season 4 Episode 8

Tutti Frutti, True Worship, and a Whole Lotta Distractions! Brother Jim and David are back for another lively edition of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer, and this time they're wrapping up their journey through the 1950s with plenty of laughs, classic music, dad jokes, and—most importantly—a challenging look at what it really means to worship God. From Little Richard and “Tutti Frutti” to yard work, church memories, falling asleep during sermons, and even the question of how to wake up a snoozing churchgoer, this episode is packed with the trademark humor and conversations you've come to expect from Brother Jim and David. But underneath all the fun is a serious spiritual question: Have we, as the church, gotten away from true worship? Brother Jim and David dig into John 4:23–24 and Romans 12:1, asking whether worship has become more about routines, music styles, sermons, comfort, appearances, and personal preferences—and less about surrendering our hearts and lives to God. This conversation challenges us to look beyond what happens inside the church building. True worship isn't simply singing songs, listening to a sermon, or sitting in a pew. It's surrender. It's obedience. It's service. It's generosity. It's love. And it's choosing to put God at the center of our entire lives. David offers a simple challenge: start with just ten minutes a day focused on worshiping God, then gradually build from there. So grab your Bible, straighten up those bibs, turn down the distractions, and join the Big Kahuna and the Wise Man for an episode that will make you laugh, make you think, and hopefully make you take an honest look at your own worship. When God looks at your worship, does He see your routine—or does He see your heart? As always, keep smiling, keep believing, keep loving, and keep trusting God!

Bible Bibs and a Prayer Season 4 Episode 7

Rock Around the Clock… and Worship Around the Clock! Grab your Bible, buckle up, and get ready for another fun-filled edition of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer with Brother Jim and David! This time, the boys take a hilarious trip back to the 1950s with plenty of nostalgia, dad jokes, fair food, donuts, old-school television, and memories from a simpler time. But beneath all the laughs is a serious question: What does it really mean to worship God? Brother Jim and David dig into John 4:23–24, Romans 12:1, and Psalm 95:6 as they explore the difference between simply attending a worship service and actually living a life of worship. Is worship just singing songs on Sunday? Is it listening to a sermon, raising your hands, or kneeling at the altar? Or does true worship go much deeper? This episode challenges us to see worship as surrender, obedience, gratitude, love, service, and trust—not just something that happens inside the church building. Worship continues when we walk through those doors: when we forgive, help someone who is struggling, tell the truth, serve without recognition, love difficult people, and trust God with tomorrow. And, of course, Brother Jim and David keep things entertaining along the way—with 1950s memories, fair stories, donut adventures, and a reminder that sometimes the best place to worship and talk with God might just be during a little “windshield time.” So turn up the volume, grab your coffee, and join the dynamic duo for a conversation that will make you laugh, make you think, and hopefully make you look at your own life a little differently. Because worship isn't just something we do. Worship is a life we live.

Bible Bibs and a Prayer Season 4 Episode 6

Get ready for another groovy trip down memory lane as Brother Jim and David crank up the 1960s nostalgia, talk legendary music and radio personalities, reminisce about Gilligan’s Island, The Andy Griffith Show, CB radios, county fairs, and—of course—deliver a few jokes that may be better left in the past! But underneath all the laughs, this episode takes a serious turn as Brother Jim tackles a subject that hits close to home: the labels we place on other people. How quickly do we judge someone by their skin color, culture, language, background, or where they came from? How often do we decide who someone is before we've ever taken the time to hear their story? Brother Jim shares a deeply personal experience involving a Guatemalan family he encountered through his community service work—a grieving mother who had recently lost her husband and was struggling to communicate because of the language barrier. What happened next became a powerful reminder that sometimes love doesn't need a translation. Drawing from Genesis 1:27 and Jesus' command to love our neighbors, this episode challenges us to stop seeing people as categories and start seeing them as people created in the image of God. Different backgrounds. Different languages. Different cultures. Different stories. One Creator. One human family. Brother Jim and David talk honestly about stereotypes, prejudice, cultural differences, fear, and the tendency to judge people we don't know. More importantly, they challenge Christians to do something about it: put down the labels, open our hearts, listen to people's stories, and let the love of Christ guide the way we treat our neighbors. Because it's easy to talk about loving people. It's much harder—and much more meaningful—to actually live it. And as always, there's plenty of laughter along the way. So straighten up that bib, grab your Bible, turn up the volume, and join Brother Jim and David for another episode of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer.

Bible Bibs and a Prayer Season 4 Episode 5

Grab your Bible, your RC Cola, and maybe a little 1960s nostalgia, because Brother Jim and David are back for another lively episode of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer! This week brings plenty of laughs, terrible jokes, fair-food talk, goats, football, and even a little poultrygeist—but the conversation eventually turns toward something much deeper. As they reflect on September 11th, patriotism, the sacrifices made for our freedom, and what it means to love our country, Brother Jim challenges us to look beyond political parties, disagreements, and the constant division around us. What does it really mean to be a good citizen, a good neighbor, and—most importantly—a follower of Christ? The message is simple but challenging: we shouldn't just complain about what is wrong with our country; we should ask what God can do through us to make a difference. Freedom comes with a cost, and it also comes with responsibility. We are called to serve, care for our communities, pray for those in authority, and be a light rather than adding fuel to the fire of division. Brother Jim also reminds us that while we can love our country, America can never take the place of God. Our ultimate allegiance belongs to Him. From the sacrifices of those who served to the responsibility we have toward our neighbors, families, churches, and communities, this episode is a reminder to pray more, serve more, complain less, and live out our faith every day. And, as always, Brother Jim and David make sure there are plenty of laughs along the way. God bless America. God bless your country. And may God help us become the kind of people who make a difference wherever He has placed us.

Bible Bibs and a Prayer Season 4 Episode 4

What kind of legacy are you leaving behind? In this episode of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer, Brother Jim and David take a groovy trip down memory lane while talking about something much more important than memories—the lasting impact of grandparents and the legacy of faith they can leave for generations to come. Brother Jim reflects on his own grandparents and the simple moments that became lifelong memories: time spent together, family traditions, shared adventures, good food, and the love that made those ordinary moments extraordinary. But as the conversation turns toward Scripture, the message becomes clear: a grandparent's greatest legacy isn't something that can be bought, wrapped, or handed down. It's a faith that can be passed forward. Drawing from Psalm 145:4, Brother Jim challenges grandparents to consider what their grandchildren see when they look at their lives. Do they see someone who prays? Someone who trusts God when life gets difficult? Someone who lives out their faith rather than simply talking about it? Grandparents may not be able to control every decision their grandchildren make, but they can pray for them. They can share their stories of God's faithfulness. They can teach, encourage, love, and point the next generation toward Jesus. And, naturally, Brother Jim and David aren't going to get through an episode without some county fair talk, 1970s nostalgia, questionable jokes, Smurfs, disco, and plenty of laughs along the way. So whether you're a grandparent, a grandchild, or simply someone thinking about the legacy you're leaving behind, this episode is a reminder that the greatest gift we can give the next generation is a faith they can carry in their hearts forever. Grab your Bible, open your heart, and join Brother Jim and David for another episode of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer—where the Word is alive, the coffee is hot, and the Holy Spirit is always invited. Keep praying. Keep loving. Keep teaching. Keep pointing the next generation toward Jesus.

Bible Bibs and a Prayer Season 4 Episode 3

What happens when you stop asking God to do things your way and start asking, “God, what do You want from me?” In this episode of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer, Brother Jim and David dive into one of the most familiar passages in Scripture—the Lord’s Prayer—and discover that Jesus gave us much more than a prayer to memorize. He gave us a pattern for living. From “Thy will be done” to daily dependence on God, forgiveness, temptation, and surrender, Brother Jim challenges us to take a serious look at our relationship with God. Are we truly living out the Lord’s Prayer, or have we become spiritual “pew potatoes,” simply sitting back and receiving? And, of course, no episode of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer would be complete without terrible jokes, 1970s nostalgia, county fair talk, eight-track references, and a few moments that make you wonder how Brother Jim and David are still allowed to have microphones. But beneath all the laughs is an important challenge: Where does our responsibility begin? Are we investing in the spiritual lives of the generations coming after us? Do we truly understand the urgency of salvation? And are we willing to let God change us instead of constantly asking Him to change everything around us? Grab your Bible, put down the distractions, and join Brother Jim and David as they dig into Scripture, ask some tough questions, and bring it all together in prayer. Because sometimes we don't need God to give us what we want—we need to surrender and discover what God wants from us.

Bible Bibs and a Prayer Season 4 Episode 2

Don’t Wait for the Wilderness — Build Your Fortress Now Brother Jim and David are back with another episode of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer, and this time the conversation gets serious about something every believer faces: spiritual battles and temptation. Using Matthew 4:1–11 and Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness, Brother Jim explores how Jesus prepared Himself before the battle came. After fasting for forty days, Jesus faced Satan’s temptations—and every time, He stood firmly on the Word of God. The message is simple but powerful: don’t wait until the enemy is at the front gate to start building your fortress. Prayer and Scripture aren't just things we turn to when everything falls apart. They are how we prepare, strengthen our relationship with God, and remain focused on His will before the battle begins. Brother Jim and David also talk about fasting, praying about the everyday needs of life—even something as ordinary as tires—and what it really means to give God every part of our lives. Along the way, there’s plenty of the usual Bible, Bibs and a Prayer humor, including '80s memories, Mr. Miyagi, Mr. T, lawnmowers, Blackstone cooking, and more. Most importantly, this episode reminds us that we don't have to face the wilderness alone. God is already there, and when we build our relationship with Him before the battle comes, we can stand firm when temptation and trials arrive. So grab your Bible, quiet the noise, and spend a few minutes asking yourself: Are you building your fortress with God now—or are you waiting until the battle begins? And remember: keep smiling, keep believing, keep loving, keep praying, and most of all, keep trusting God.

Bible Bibs and a Prayer Season 4 Episode 1

The Boys Are Back! — Prayer Before the Battle The boys are back in town! After a break, Brother Jim and David return for another season of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer with plenty of laughs, Gen X nostalgia, terrible jokes, and—most importantly—the Word of God. In this season premiere, Brother Jim and David dive into one of the most important questions we can ask: Why do we pray? Is prayer something we turn to only when life falls apart, or is it something we should be doing before the battle ever begins? Looking at Matthew 4:1–11 and Jesus’ time in the wilderness, the conversation explores how Jesus prepared spiritually before facing temptation. If Jesus intentionally spent time with the Father before the battle, how much more do we need prayer in our own lives? From financial struggles and family challenges to temptation and the everyday spiritual battles we all face, this episode challenges us to stop waiting for the emergency before we start praying. Prayer isn't a last resort—it is preparation. It is communication with God, a way to strengthen our relationship with Him and focus our hearts on the One who is greater than anything we face. And, of course, Brother Jim and David wouldn't be back without a healthy dose of humor, stories, bad jokes, and a little bit of '80s nostalgia along the way. Grab your Bible, put down the distractions, and join the boys as they kick off a brand-new season of Bible, Bibs and a Prayer—because the battle may be coming, but we can be prepared before it arrives. Keep smiling. Keep believing. Keep loving. Keep trusting God.
