In the heart of Amsterdam West lies a gem, hidden underground, that comes to life during weekend evenings: a streaming studio, equipped with top notch DJ gear, professional video equipment, light robots and bombastic speakers; it’s called The Bassment and for the past couple of years it has been hosting an excellent roster of national and international DJs, in different formats but always very Techno-oriented: a delight for any techno-head alike. Along its evolution is the award of the official ADE yellow cube, making The Bassment a relevant pin in today’s #Mokum map of underground venues.Mind Your step, curator and owner of this cozy but vibrant space, is a long time Techno lover and, as such, he’s a supporter of the earlier Techno sound; but his fascination with all things electronic has kept him very much up with current times. His personal setup is made to live edit tracks as he plays, creating brand new music from existing one, for a whole new listening and dancing experience.
