    So you're telling me there's a chance

    Ricky starts off the show on the road with his friend that's a fellow car nut and actor, Ivan.  The guys talk about EV's and the cost comparison to gas cars.  A $1,000 a month??  Ricky and Ivan talk about the tech and head back into the studio.  Back in the studio, Ivan talks about playing the character Steve in a movie.  Ricky notices a part of his performance that was improved, and it was classic.  The guys talk some about stage acting and the dedication it takes.  Ivan gives a tip on memorizing lines, and getting into character.  The guys talk about extra roles, speaking roles and the likelihood of someone getting a speaking role as an extra.  Ivan gives advice on improving your acting abilities.  Ivan talks about some experiences on set and the hilarious situations that can happen.  Ricky talks about sugar glass.  Don't mess with that guy.  Thanks for listening everyone, and we'll be back in September!  Make sure to leave a comment and rate the show wherever you listen.

    Everyone doesn't need to hear you pee

    Ricky starts off this relaxed, July 4th holiday show talking about a voiceover, that to this day, still makes him laugh.  What the heck is a mud bog?  Ricky explains.  He then dives into some how to talk.  Is your HDMI port not working??  I mean, watching TV is important.  Ricky Harris Media has you covered on TV repair as well.  Ricky went into these repairs expecting a mess, but it wasn't bad at all.  So give it a try; with proper precautions of course.  Ricky then makes some dumb jokes while talking about repairing his trashcan.  Next he talks about a really easy and free way to make a room sound good for recording sound.  Auto punch in audio production is discussed.  This makes recording your own performance really easy.  Ricky then plays an example of why it's best to assume a microphone is on.  While we're relaxing for the holiday, Ricky plays a clip from a TV weather segment that's a great example of the giggles, that just won't go away, no matter what you do.  Happy 4th of July everyone and if you listen on Spotify, make sure to leave a comment.  Seeya in August!  Listen on Spotify:  https://open.spotify.com/show/1YEhhTTD9Y68PqvoQvWYQd?si=4YiP2w8-Smq77-yT0KmHcQ

    Don't Get Evicted

    Ricky takes the show on the road again; he gives a teaser on what's coming up later this season.  This being more talk about acting and also electric vehicles.  He then talks about a technique for recording your ideas or show content in the moment to build your brand.  Back in the studio, he talks about working with a Mean Girl and a Soggy Bottom Boy.  That being Amanda Seyfried and Tim Blake Nelson.  He then dives into the meat of the show, recording an electric guitar direct with no amplifier playing in the room, and it sounding near finished.  This gives you a very quiet way to song write and even record. Don't think you have to be absolutely perfect with your music.  Committing to sound and staying disciplined is mentioned.  Ricky dives into possible vs. practical and makes a comparison of guitar recording to gas turbine locomotives.  Thanks for listening and see ya'll next month.     20 minute bass solo

    This episode is about improving what you have.  First, Ricky talks about working on his bass guitar to make it sound fuller and more familiar.  He plugs it into the DI and let's you hear it.  For comparison, he plays his new to him Jazz Bass.  Correction:  Ricky said fretboard but he meant to say pickguard.  Next up, Ricky talks about modifying his MXL 990 microphone for better sound.  He finally talks about basic troubleshooting with electronics.  Thank you all for listening and seeya next month.

    On the set again

    Ricky is back for one more episode before summer hiatus.  He starts of the show talking about saving your hearing and how those of us that are into sound, seem to love loud things.  He then talks about a device that makes your social media production painless and fun.  Ricky then plays a song he performed drums, bass and guitar on for a friend's podcast.  He just had to record his new guitar.  He talks about the influences.  Check out All About The Experience.  Ricky then talks about a simple repair he made to his car thanks to YouTube.  Speaking of YouTube..
