One fire card that I love is Raging Flame Sprite. It is a 100 attack, 200 defense effect monster. It's effect is "This card can attack your opponent directly. If this card inflicts damage to your opponent by a direct attack: this card gains 1000 attack." This allows it to very quickly lower your opponent's life points. Two cards that are very useful for protecting it are Heart of clear water, which protects a card with attack of 1200 or lower from being targeted or destroyed by battle (it's an equip card), and Begone Knave! which returns any card that does damage to a player to it's owner's hand. (continiuous trap) This means you can attack with raging flame sprite, and either it cannot be destroyed until it is at 2100 attack, or it is returned to your hand with raised attack after it attacks, making it practically impossible for your opponent to destroy it. You could also try pixie ring, a continuous trap card with an effect that says your opponent cannot attack your lowest attack monster when you have 2 or more monsters on the field.
