The Daily Bible Podcast by GE & KC

This podcast is so much fun. It’s blasphemous, which I love, it’s easy to listen to, and it’s a really fun way to learn the stories and details of the Bible without actually reading the Bible. As an ex-baptist, I recognize a lot of the stories but they’re very different than how they’re taught in the church, and there are many things in the Bible the church conveniently left out of their teachings. I think it’s really important for non-religious people to know what is actually in the Bible, so we can clearly and concisely explain to people who try to proselytize to us why we don’t believe and why we disagree with the majority of what the Bible teaches. This is an awesome alternative to reading and trying to decipher it on your own! Also, GE and KC are hilarious, they have great chemistry, and they make it super fun. I’m looking forward to listening to the ENTIRE Bible read by GE and KC.

I love the short summaries of each chapter before it’s read. It gives you the highlights of what’s about to happen. Love you GE

I’ve been wanting a skeptical bible study for some time now, and I’m very glad to have it. That said, it isn’t exactly what I normally want from a study of ancient texts and contexts, because it’s more focused on entertainment and humor than actually understanding every fine point. It actually reminds me of ThugNotes on The Epic of Gilgamesh; you get the basic idea, you have a ton of laughs, and you leave having a whetted appetite for the full context and go look for something a bit more in depth in the parts that most interested you. But, I’m not sure I could expect more even from the actual “Bible In A Year” book they’re going through All in all, it’s very fun to listen to and may appeal to a wider audience, but at the cost of a little bit of nuance. 9/10, rounded up to 5 stars
