A Ron Johnson revelation, gas prices, and downtown revitalization
Evidence revealed at the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection shows that an aide for U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson told former Vice President Mike Pence’s staff that the Republican from Wisconsin wanted to hand-deliver fake elector votes from Wisconsin and Michigan. Then, Gov. Tony Evers issued an executive order yesterday banning gasoline price gouging in Wisconsin. And Eagle River’s downtown is taking off. In the last two years it has seen 26 new businesses.

Then, the man accused of killing six people by driving his SUV through a Waukesha Christmas parade is mounting an insanity defense. And the Oneida County courthouse is offering a new walking audio tour to showcase the building’s unique history.

A heat advisory, sound garden, and Juneteenth celebration
The Northwoods is under a heat advisory from 3 p.m. today until early tomorrow morning. Temperatures will range from 90 to 97 degrees with heat indexes close to 100. A sound garden in Land O’ Lakes lets people immerse themselves in nature, music and art. And Portage County hosted its second Juneteenth celebration to commemorate and celebrate the end of slavery.
