    Anything worth building for God will eventually face resistance. In this message from Ruins to Revival, Pastor Morgan continues through Ezra as the people of Israel face discouragement, fear, delays, and opposition while rebuilding the temple. What began with excitement and momentum eventually comes to a standstill — but when God speaks, the people get back up and begin building again. Resistance doesn’t always mean you’re moving in the wrong direction. Sometimes spiritual maturity looks like continuing to obey God even while the opposition is still there. You may not be able to control every circumstance, delay, outcome, or person around you — but you can choose whether or not you stay faithful. What have you stopped building because you got tired? Maybe it’s your marriage, your relationship with Jesus, your family, your calling, your health, your finances, or something God placed on your heart a long time ago.     No Risk no Story | Pastor Brandon Beals | Venture Church

    What do you do when God is clearly stirring your heart, but taking the next step feels risky? This week, Pastor Brandon continues our Ruins to Revival series through Ezra and Nehemiah with a message called “No Risk, No Story.” When King Cyrus gave the Jewish people the opportunity to return to Jerusalem, only about 50,000 people made the journey. The invitation was available to everyone, but most stayed behind. Why? Because following God often requires us to leave what is familiar, comfortable, and predictable. Pastor Brandon unpacks three reasons we often resist taking the risk God is calling us to: Fear — What if I fail? What if it doesn’t work? Comfort — What if I’m already happy with where I am? Uncertainty — What if I can’t see what the future looks like? The good can become the enemy of the best when we allow fear or comfort to keep us from stepping into what God is stirring us toward.     How did we end up here? | Pastor Brandon Beals | Venture Church

    What do you do when you look at your life and ask, “How did I end up here?” This week, Pastor Brandon kicks off our brand new series, Ruins to Revival, a journey through the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. Before stepping into the story itself, he lays the foundation by tracing the history of Israel and showing how a series of choices, victories, failures, and consequences eventually brought God’s people to a place of destruction and exile. At the center of the message is the reminder from 2 Peter 3:9 that God is not slow in keeping His promises. Even when we experience the consequences of our own decisions, God has not abandoned us. We reap what we sow, but nothing can separate us from the love of God. Pastor Brandon walks through God’s promise to Abraham, Israel’s journey into the Promised Land, the period of the judges, the rise of Saul, David and Solomon, the divided kingdom, the Assyrian conquest, and finally the Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem. By the time Ezra begins, the temple is gone, the walls are destroyed, the people have been scattered, and it looks like God’s promise could never come true. But God had not forgotten them. Even in the ruins, His promise remained. Even in exile, His love remained.
