Fashion History with American Duchess

I appreciate the wide variety of topics that still have a clear theme and purpose. I love the guests on the show, lots of whom are familiar names in the costuming world. 4 stars instead of five due to the inconsistency with which they release their episodes. I don’t mind them being infrequent, I know these things take time! But it would be nice to have a once a month date to rely on it coming out.

I love the subject matter and I love the guests. I also love Abby Cox on her own podcasts after 2020, but the early episodes of her obnoxious comments taking over the air time and interjecting and railroading the guests is painful to listen to. So many graceful people and conversations smashed like a bull in a China cabinet. It’s sad. A simple turning down of her mic would help, but her unfiltered -ness kills me. Just immature. I had to listen twice to get past the cringeworthy parts that distracted from the topics.

Will you be making more episodes I am sad about waiting half a year

Just listened to the episode about hair- love the research and how it’s presented but the comment about how you believe it’s “gross” to put petroleum pommade in hair was ignorant. You do lots of research about historical hair styling-which some may consider gross but which you present with empathy and curiosity- so please pay respect to other cultural hairstyling. I’m talking specifically about the Black community who are contemporary users of petroleum pommade and use it to create innovative and original hairstyles to this day.
