    Wladimir Klitschko

pWotD Episode 3395: Wladimir Klitschko Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 404,736 views on Tuesday, 18 August 2026 our article of the day is Wladimir Klitschko. Volodymyr Klitschko (born 25 March 1976) is a Ukrainian former professional boxer who competed from 1996 to 2017. He held multiple heavyweight world championships between 2000 and 2015, including unified titles between 2008 and 2015. During this time he also held the International Boxing Organization (IBO) and Ring magazine titles. Klitschko is considered by some to be one of the greatest heavyweight champions ever. In order to sharpen his tactical thinking and anticipation for fights, he regularly played blitz chess with former world champion Garry Kasparov. He was known for his exceptional knockout power, using a strong jab; straight right hand; and left hook, quick hand speed, formidable physical strength (which he often employed when clinching opponents), and his athletic footwork and mobility – unusual for boxers of his size. As an amateur, Klitschko represented Ukraine at the 1996 Olympics, winning a gold medal in the super-heavyweight division and ending his amateur run with 134 wins and 6 losses. After turning professional later that year, he defeated Chris Byrd in 2000 to win the World Boxing Organization (WBO) heavyweight title. Klitschko's first reign as champion ended in an upset knockout loss to Corrie Sanders in 2003, which was followed by another upset knockout loss to Lamon Brewster in 2004. It was during this time that Klitschko hired Emanuel Steward as his trainer, which began an eight-year partnership that lasted until Steward's death in 2012. In particular, Steward was credited with Klitschko's transition from an aggressive puncher to a more defensively-oriented boxer, much as he had done with Lennox Lewis from 1995 to 2003. From 2004 to 2015, Wladimir and his brother Vitali Klitschko (himself a multiple-time world champion) dominated heavyweight boxing, a period typically known as the "Klitschko Era" of the division. In 2006, Wladimir regained a portion of the world heavyweight championship after defeating Byrd in a rematch to win the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and IBO titles. He won his second WBO title by defeating Sultan Ibragimov in 2008. Following his defeat of Ruslan Chagaev in 2009, Klitschko was awarded the Ring title, and lastly he won the World Boxing Association (WBA) title (Unified version, later Super version) from David Haye in 2011. During Klitschko's reign as world heavyweight champion, his fights would reportedly generate up to 500 million viewers worldwide. Klitschko holds all-time records for the longest time spent as world heavyweight champion at 4,382 days and most fighters beaten for the world heavyweight championship, at 23. He also holds records for the most wins and title defences of the unified championship in professional boxing history. In 2011, both Wladimir and Vitali entered the Guinness World Records book as brothers with most world heavyweight title fight wins (30 at the time; 40 as of 2020). Klitschko was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame Class of 2021, having been elected in his first year of eligibility. Ejaculation

pWotD Episode 3393: Ejaculation Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 226,563 views on Sunday, 16 August 2026 our article of the day is Ejaculation. Ejaculation is the discharge of semen (the ejaculate; normally containing sperm) from the penis through the urethra. It is the final stage and natural objective of male sexual stimulation, and an essential component of natural conception. After forming an erection, many men emit pre-ejaculatory fluid during stimulation prior to ejaculating. Ejaculation involves involuntary contractions of the pelvic floor and is normally linked with orgasm. It is a normal part of male human sexual development. Ejaculation can occur spontaneously during sleep (a nocturnal emission or "wet dream") or in rare cases because of prostatic disease. Anejaculation is the condition of being unable to ejaculate. Dysejaculation is an ejaculation that is painful or uncomfortable. Retrograde ejaculation is the backward flow of semen from the urethra into the bladder. Premature ejaculation happens shortly after initiating sexual activity, and hinders prolonged sexual intercourse. A vasectomy alters the composition of the ejaculate as a form of birth control. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 17:51 UTC on Monday, 17 August 2026. For the full current version of the article, see Ejaculation on Wikipedia. Jason Arday

pWotD Episode 3391: Jason Arday Welcome to popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 586,742 views on Friday, 14 August 2026 our article of the day is Jason Arday. Jason Atta Kwei Arday (9 May 1985 – 14 August 2026) was a British academic and author who was a professor of sociology at the University of Cambridge from 2023 to 2026. Arday resigned following widely publicised allegations that he had plagiarised and falsified parts of his research, as well as claims of fabrication within his autobiographical accounts. After receiving a PhD degree from Liverpool John Moores University in 2015, Arday taught physical education at Leeds Beckett and Roehampton before teaching sociology at Durham and Glasgow, where he became a professor in 2022. From 2018, he contributed publications that focused on race and racism in the British education sector, and wrote autoethnographic reflections about his life as a neurodivergent black academic. In 2023, Arday was appointed a professor of sociology of education at Cambridge, attracting media attention as the youngest black professor in the university's history. Over the following years he made television appearances, was given several honorary doctorates, and was appointed to various trustee or advisory roles in civil society. He also wrote a memoir, Great and Unfortunate Things, published in 2026. In 2026, media reported allegations that Arday had plagiarised some of his writings, falsified research, and made false claims in his academic and personal history. Arday acknowledged mistakes in his work, but called the allegations "cruel," and maintained he was not a liar and stated that institutional panels had cleared him of academic misconduct. Shortly after Cambridge announced an investigation into his appointment, Arday resigned. The affair attracted widespread media attention. Various media commentators and academics accused Cambridge of failing to uphold academic standards, stated that the case increased challenges for black scholars, and stated that the incident emboldened critics of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Nine days after his resignation, Arday died. Prime Minister Andy Burnham and other political figures expressed condolences. Some asserted that he had been subjected to a racialised smear campaign by the media. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 16:00 UTC on Monday, 17 August 2026. Binface stood against the prime minister, Boris Johnson, in Uxbridge and South Ruislip at the 2019 general election, and the 2023 by-election which followed Johnson’s resignation as a member of Parliament.
