Turn Suicide Loss Into Meaning, Purpose & Joy: A Mother's Unstoppable Love with Author Ann Marie Farino - Part 2 of 2

How do you rebuild your life after devastating loss—without feeling as though choosing joy means leaving the person you love behind? In Part Two of Karen Love Lee's deeply personal conversation with Ann Marie Farino, you will discover: Why choosing joy after loss does not diminish the depth of your love How grief can become a catalyst for meaning, purpose, and self-evolution Why healing is not about "moving on," but learning how to carry love forward How spiritual nudges, humor, and unexpected moments of connection can help us endure the unbearable What it takes to rebuild an identity and a life after years of chronic chaos After spending years loving her son Richard through addiction, mental-health struggles, treatment programs, legal challenges, and family upheaval, Ann Marie faced the unimaginable: Richard's death by suicide. Part One explored how to love someone engulfed in chaos without completely abandoning yourself. Part Two moves into the next chapter—the courageous and deeply personal work of deciding how to live after the chaos ends. Ann Marie shares how she gradually reclaimed meaning, recognized the divine nudges supporting her, and gave herself permission to experience laughter, purpose, and joy again. Her evolution reminds us that grief and joy are not opposites. We can continue loving those we have lost while also choosing to remain fully alive. Karen brings a uniquely double-ended perspective to this conversation. She survived her own suicide attempt and later survived the devastating loss of her sister to "slow" suicide. Together, Karen and Ann Marie explore suicide, grief, survival, and transformation from perspectives rarely held within one conversation. This is The Power of Self-EVOLution: not denying what shattered you, but allowing it to deepen, reshape, and ultimately reveal who you are becoming. Survive Chronic Chaos Without Losing YourSELF: Suicide Loss with Author Ann Marie Farino - Part 1 of 2

How do you deeply love someone through addiction, mental-health struggles and chronic chaos—without completely losing yourself in the process? In Part One of this deeply personal two-part conversation, you will discover: How to remain connected to yourself while someone you love is engulfed in chaos The critical difference between loving someone and losing yourself while trying to save them How love can continue without enabling destructive behavior What it takes to find meaning, purpose and even joy after devastating loss Why surviving the unthinkable can become a profound catalyst for self-evolution Ann Marie Farino joins Karen Love Lee to share the extraordinary and heartbreaking journey behind her forthcoming memoir, Chronic Chaos: A Son's Addiction, a Mother's Love, and Her Quest to Find Joy. Ann Marie loved her son, Richard, through years of addiction, mental-health challenges and escalating family chaos before losing him to suicide. Yet this conversation is not solely about how Richard died. It is about how Ann Marie survived, evolved and learned to live again without denying the depth of her love or the magnitude of her grief. Karen brings her own double-ended connection to this conversation: surviving a suicide attempt herself and later losing her beloved sister to suicide. Together, Karen and Ann Marie explore both sides of suicide loss—the internal suffering of the person who wants to die and the life-altering journey faced by those left behind. This is The Power of Self-EVOLution in its rawest form: discovering that even when you cannot control or save someone you love, you can choose not to abandon yourself. You can grieve, love, evolve and gradually reclaim your capacity for joy. Calling Out Silent Burnout

Silent Burnout is the internal dimming of the flame — and the way through it is not more force, more doing, or more resistance. It is filling the inner cup, allowing stillness, accepting what is happening, and working through it without mistaking stillness for stagnation. In this episode, I call out Silent Burnout for what it can really look and feel like from the inside. You can still be functioning. Still handling life. Still doing what needs to be done. Still appearing capable on the outside — while something inside you feels depleted, disconnected, or simply not as alive as it once did. And our instinct is often to push harder. Do more. Fix it. Force ourselves forward. But most times that only drains the cup further. Counter intuitively ~ what is actually needed is the willingness to stop resisting where we are, become still enough to hear what is happening internally, and give ourselves the space to work through it. Stillness does not mean you are stuck. It does not mean you are failing. And it does not mean the fire is gone. The internal flame has simply dimmed because the inner cup needs to be filled again. This episode is about recognizing Silent Burnout, calling it out, and allowing ourselves to move through it without adding even more pressure to an already depleted internal system. I am also continuing my research interviews around Silent Burnout. If this topic resonates with you and you would be open to sharing your experience in a confidential research conversation, I'd love to hear from you. Silent Burnout: When Human Doing Replaces Human Being

When did being human become so completely attached to what we accomplish, produce, achieve, fix, finish, and prove? In this free-associative episode of The Power of Self-EVOLUTION, I explore something I have been recognizing through my ongoing research into Silent Burnout: We have become a society of Human Doings rather than Human Beings. Many highly driven, high-functioning people never stop doing long enough to recognize how exhausted, disconnected, or internally depleted they have become. And because they are still functioning—still working, producing, handling responsibilities, and getting things done—it may never occur to them that they are experiencing burnout. That is what makes Silent Burnout so silent. In this episode, I connect the dots between our relentless drive to accomplish and the gradual loss of our relationship with Self. Takeaways and Aha Moments Your identity can become unconsciously attached to what you do. When your value comes primarily from achievement, productivity, and accomplishment, simply being can begin to feel uncomfortable or even unproductive. Silent Burnout does not always look like falling apart. You can continue functioning at an extremely high level while feeling mentally exhausted, emotionally disconnected, internally flat, or as though you are simply going through the motions. Doing more is not always the solution. Sometimes the constant need to keep moving, solving, producing, and accomplishing is part of what prevents us from recognizing what is actually happening inside of us. Success and internal fulfillment are not the same thing. You can be outwardly successful while becoming increasingly disconnected from your own Sense-of-Self. Our greatest strengths can flip into weaknesses when they are overused. Drive, ambition, responsibility, discipline, and perseverance are extraordinary strengths—until they become unconscious ways of overriding exhaustion, emotion, and internal truth. Being still can reveal what constant activity has been covering up. When the doing stops, we may finally recognize how we actually feel, what we truly want, and whether the life we have built still reflects who we are. The deeper question is not only, "What am I accomplishing?" It is also: Who am I becoming? What is all of this doing costing me? And do I still feel fully alive inside the life I have created? I am currently conducting research interviews with founders and entrepreneurs as I continue studying the internal experience of Silent Burnout. If you are a founder or entrepreneur who is highly functioning on the outside but privately feels exhausted, disconnected, stuck on autopilot, or as though your inner fire has become subdued, I would love to hear about your experience. This is for research purposes only, nothing more. So What Does It Mean To BE Fulfilled... Without Achievements?

SO WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE FULFILLED? THE QUESTION NO ONE ASKS ESPECIALLY TO HIGH ACHIEVERS! In my last episode, I talked about why success doesn't guarantee fulfillment. And if you listened, you already know the most obvious next question--- Okay... so then HOW? How do we actually FEEL fulfilled? And is it even possible to feel it without achieving something first? This is the question that's rarely asked. And even more rarely answered honestly... that permeates. In this episode I'm digging into what fulfillment actually is ~ and what it isn't. Because most high achievers have been chasing a feeling they've never once stopped to define. I'm sharing why achievement can never consistently deliver fulfillment, where fulfillment actually lives, and what it means to practice BEING before doing and having. This episode is for every high achiever who has hit goal after goal, career after career, milestone after milestone — and still felt something was missing. You're not broken. You're not ungrateful. You're just living backwards. And that changes today. Because worthy isn't something you earn. It's something you just ARE. If this episode resonates somewhere for you ~ DM me on LinkedIn.
