Cover 3 College Football

Love the show. Have listened for 5+ years. Tom, I was worng in mentions on X to mention Illinois in the Texas/Sark comments. I do however, would like to hear comments on why you think you Texas should schedule a game against Texas Tech when they consistently play one of the hardest schedules in the country year after year to come? Big 10 and SEC schedules are HARD these days even for the top of the conference. I would rather the best of the SEC schedule the best of the BIG10. IMO the top of the SEC and Big 10 gain nothing scheduling ACC or Big 12 teams and they stand to gain everything. Thank you all! It’s not always easy being a Kentucky football fan.

With all the talk about a 24 team playoff, how about coupling it with automatic bids for every conference champion? Non-college football fans would whine about ‘bad’ playoff games. But it would encourage coaches and players to seek opportunities in group of 6 schools. This would expand parity, take some power away from ‘selection’ committees, and provide rooting interest for the 65 FBS schools that are increasingly used just as feeder schools and cannon fodder.

Are you surprised Cignetti has not done at least a little more high school recruiting? They may land the 5 star Sales but as of May 15th have 4 high school commits. Wouldn’t some quality prospects love to play for Indiana right now that won’t break the bank/hurt their portal strategy, but give the roster some foundation?

I’ve listened to the show going back to the early days. But that interest is waning just like my passion for the sport in general. Bud and Danny are a couple of jilted FSU representatives, willing to blow up the sport because their school (admittedly) was screwed out of a playoff spot a few years back. You two will likely get your way with a 24 team playoff, but you are advocating for a future that very few fans want, most will end up lamenting, and there will be no coming back from. CFB will never fall off as much as NASCAR did, but the golden era is dead …. And so is the golden era of this podcast. Bud, all the AI graphics in the world aren’t going to convince the majority of CFB fans to buy what you’re shoveling. Peace
