Love this show! Great way to keep up with the sport and have some laughs. Question: Fernando Mendoza was one of the best quarterbacks we’ve seen on a national championship winning team. Who are some of the worst quarterbacks to win the national championship in the CFP era, and how would Indiana have fared with them? Would they still have competed for the Big 10? Made the playoffs?

Best podcast there is! Soap box time. I am an athletic trainer at a low trier G6 program. I have also spent time in my career at an upper tier FCS program, upper tier G6 program and a mid tier P4 program. College football will continue to be a mess until a league is formed where there is an actual real governing body that is respected, a CBA in place and there are consequences for violating such bylaws, just as in the NFL. The issues now don’t fall at the NCAA level, they fall with coaches, AD, and university presidents viewing college football as a way for them to make as much money as possible, and cheat as needed to win. College football and athletic departments are also so widely fiscally irresponsible. Now that I’m off my soap box, mailbag question. What is your go to tailgate setup? Give me a cooler full of beer, a smoker with some pulled pork on it and a nice brisk fall day.

Love the pod guys, thanks for all you do. Wanted to touch on your Arvell vs Sonny topic from today’s mailbag - think yall are off base a bit. Think you’d ask any OSU fan and 9 out of 10 would tell you Sonny was 1) the better player and 2) by far the better linebacker. Always respect your opinions, just interesting that I think Bud was the first person I’ve heard suggest Arvell was the better player. Many on the OSU beat feel pretty confident Sonny is a future HOFer, can’t say I disagree with that either! Arvell feels like the bigger gamble IMO. Cheers guys!
