When coaches make terrible decisions is it more often a blind spot or an ego thing ? I tend to give coaches a ton of slack because I think fans often oversimplify how hard it is to call plays or manage a game. That being said, there are some truly baffling decisions. Whether it be deciding to play man on a dominant WR, or deciding to stop feeding the ball to your best player, how or why does that happen ?

In the past I’ve always heard you have to give the new hire at least 3-4 years, see how his recruiting class pans out, because the current roster is from the last coach. With the transfer portal, NIL, and teams turning around so quickly with transfer hires, should we have less patience with coaches at big programs with money to spend? How should the coach contracts reflect that? I believe schools are making moves on coaches sooner than they use to and that’s reflected in these massive buyouts. Thoughts?

Gents, long time listener first time question asker. Since I know some yall watch hockey I wanted to ask the following: Could the NFL move to a futures style draft akin to the NHL? Players become eligible at 18 and essentially get their rights drafted while being eligible to play college. In the world of NIL I think this makes sense. NFL teams could trade futures pick depending on their performance adding some interesting story lines to the game. Would probably need to pick an age you can get called up at (maybe 20) but overall could be cool. Would really enjoy to hear your thoughts. Have a good one.
