Neville Goddard - Parting ways with your problems so you can....

If you’ve spent months visualizing, affirming, and "trying" to manifest with nothing to show for it, you are likely among the majority who are "Mentally Mucking around." Most people fail because they don’t realize they are the operant power. Being the operant power means the buck stops with you; you aren’t waiting for a cosmic green light or divine intervention to change your life. The frustration of manifesting stems from a fundamental misunderstanding. This is the perspective of Mr. 2020, a specialist based in Melbourne, Australia, who dives into the often-overlooked final revisions of Neville Goddard’s work. To get what you want, you have to stop pushing and start returning to the state where your desire already exists. "Most people can't part with what they don't want long enough to get what they do want." Shelli spent 12 years of her life dating married men. 7 years with one, and 5 with another. She claimed she wanted a committed partner, yet she was deeply committed to her own "truth": that all men are shallow and only want sex. Because she habitually returned to this belief, she continued to attract partners who proved her right. She didn't have to work hard to stay lonely; she just had to stay intimate with her grievances. She was more "married" to her identity as a victim of shallow men than she was to the possibility of a real relationship. Many students of Neville Goddard are stuck on his earlier concepts of "persisting" in an assumption. However, Neville’s personal philosophy underwent a massive tactical update toward the end of his life. The 1972 Revisions Before his death in 1972, Neville made handwritten corrections in his personal copy of The Power of Awareness. These updates were eventually published by his daughter, Victoria, in 1992. They reveal a shift from the effortful "push" of persistence to the natural ease of "returning." Think of the difference between a man forcing himself to be faithful and a man who can’t wait to get home to his wife. The first man is using willpower to resist temptation; the second man is simply returning to where he belongs. Manifesting is the same. It isn't about pushing a philosophy until you're exhausted; it is about "going home" to the state where your desire is a present fact. You have to part ways with your excuses. Your excuse is a whore you’re sleeping with—it’s comfortable and familiar, but it will never give you the life you actually want. Consider the man who has been "trying" to sign up for the Manifesting Mastery program for seven years. He claims he wants change, but he won't part with $2 a day to join the Manifesting Mastery Deluxe community. He isn’t lacking funds; he is married to the excuse of "I can't afford it." He has wasted seven years being intimate with a lie, rather than investing in his own transformation. Manifesting is not a process of "wanting" or "waiting." It is a process of "having" by choosing where you dwell. When you stop trying to force reality to change and instead focus on which state you are returning to each day, the struggle vanishes. You are the operant power of your life; you do not need to wait for a government official or a divine sign to move from the outhouse to the mansion. The shift from effortful persisting to natural returning is the difference between a life of friction and a life of fulfillment.

New! Your Manifesting Questions Answered July 13, 2026

Today’s Neville Goddard quote: “Because God has given all of us free will, you can choose the states you wish to occupy.” ”Creation is finished and you have free will to choose the state you will occupy.” Imagination Creates Reality "The important thing to bear in mind is that you have infinite free will in choosing your assumptions, but no power to determine conditions and events. You can create nothing, but your assumption determines what portion of creation you will experience." The Power of Awareness TT’s Question:  Why is Free Will important?   (What’s the one cause?) TT’s Question 2:  Where does it end?  (There is no free will to do.) I've begun to incorporate being still into my method. Old problem shows up. First be still.  Then imaginally experience the desired state. Do not go directly to the new state. How long should we be still before moving onto the imaginal experience? How did I imagine up being alone and lonely….  I keep imagining him with me, I am doing affirmations, visualizations and when he doesn’t show up I….  I keep doing all the right things but the wrong thing keeps happening? TT note:  She imagines he has no free will.  That nobody else does in her reality.   Because you treat money as a big thing. And you’ have a single size. What and how do I do imagine?;  in October I and my best friend are going to Greece, on ”last minute trip” and I now read is how bad the reviews are about the hotel we are going to stay at.(we SHOULD read before we booked the trip, but at the time I was SO sure that this trip IS wonderful that I didn’t)  All I wanted was to remember this trips as a wonderful, lovely and FUN vacation with my friend. Because she is a queen and I AM also a queen. But I lost it after reading those bad reviews…  Ann in Sweden  Question: How to stay focused on your ideal (i.e., stay in state) when everyone/everything  around you is spouting negativity (including your husband)?  Thanks, Marie Hello Twenty and Victoria! "I will not hear or accept anything but that which contributes to the noble concept that I hold of myself.  I will see that I am secure, and maybe a headline will startle the world, but I will not accept it, for if I don't admit to it, it can't proceed out of me.  For all things when they are admitted are made manifest, unless they are not  admitted.  So. if I now will admit that using this moment as my moment to invest, if I am what reason denies, what my senses deny, and I proceed in that assumption, knowing that even though it doesn't confirm itself tonight or tomorrow, I will still live in the assumption that I am what I want to be and all day tune in and listen only for the good report.  I know these are investments and tomorrow these dividend checks must come." Neville Goddard (Sound Investments) Manifesting is a movement… Within me.  My desires come from… The deep of me.  It is as though I throw out… An image before me… And proceed to step into it.  In the moment of conception… I am fully Persuaded! The seed has its own plan… And power of fulfillment.  Scripture declares… “For he that has entered into His rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His.” My soul’s satisfaction… Is in the SILENCE.  In silence my soul sings… It’s sacred song.  There I fall so in Love with… My precious desire… Enchanted and intoxicated… I am moved by her image… Imagining is… Image-Ing… Made manifest.  Looking forward to conversation with you all.   Thank you!  Lisa  Jonathan via Email: Manifesting and StillnessLinda on Messenger:  I keep doing the right things but I manifest the oppositeAngie on fb:  "Why can't I manifest the big things or money?"Ann in MMD:  Using Memory as ImaginationMarie via Email:   Hubby is Negative Remarkable Lisa Ann LaRock: “Image Investment”
