    Follow Me

John the Baptist pointed his disciples to Jesus, saying, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” When they began following Jesus, the next step in their journey became a call: “Follow me.” In Matthew 4, Jesus finds Peter and Andrew at work, casting their nets. He calls them to follow, promising to make them “fishers of men.” Then he calls James and John as they mend their nets. These were ordinary men, yet Jesus invited them into a life shaped by his presence and purpose. Following Jesus means more than admiring him or agreeing with his teachings. It means trusting his direction, letting his words guide our choices, and placing his will above every competing loyalty. The disciples left their nets and responded. Jesus may not call us to leave our occupations, but he does call us to surrender anything that keeps us from obeying him. He gives his followers a mission: to help others come to know him. We do not need to see the road ahead before we begin. We need to hear the call and take the next faithful step. The Lamb who gave himself for us is worthy of our lives. Hear his invitation: “Follow me.”

    Behold, the Lamb of God

Come and see… and then behold the Lamb. 🐑✝️ When John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him, he said: “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” — John 1:29 That title reaches back through the whole story of Scripture. Jesus is the Lamb God provided, the spotless sacrifice, the One who gave His life so that we could have life. But John’s words were never meant to produce admiration alone. When two disciples heard him say, “Behold, the Lamb of God,” they followed Jesus. That is the invitation for us too. Come and see who Jesus is. Behold what He came to do. Then choose to follow Him. Join us at Cortez Church of Christ as we continue this series with: Behold the Lamb Seeing What Jesus Came to Do John 1:29–37 We’d love to have you with us. Bring a friend, come as you are, and let’s look together at why Jesus is called the Lamb of God. #BeholdTheLamb #ComeAndSee #Jesus #BibleStudy #CortezChurchOfChrist #Faith #John1

    Come & See

What are you really looking for? In John 1:35–46, people searching for hope, truth, purpose, and direction encounter Jesus. Rather than demanding blind acceptance, Jesus offers a simple invitation: “Come and you will see.” Andrew meets Jesus and immediately brings his brother Simon. Philip finds Nathanael, who responds with skepticism—but Philip does not argue with him. He simply says, “Come and see.” That invitation still speaks to us today. In this episode of Walking in the Light, we consider why everyone is searching for something, how Jesus knows us more deeply than anyone else, and why a personal encounter with Him can change the direction of our lives. You do not need to have every answer before approaching Jesus. Bring your questions, doubts, disappointments, and hopes. Open the Gospel of John, examine His words, and discover for yourself who Jesus truly is. When Jesus Seems Late

Have you ever prayed for God to act—only to watch the situation become more difficult while you waited? In Mark 5:21–43, Jairus asked Jesus to save his dying daughter. Jesus agreed to go with him, but then stopped along the way. While Jairus waited, the worst news arrived. Yet Jesus told him, “Do not fear, only believe.” This encouraging message reminds us that what feels like a delay is never neglect on the part of Jesus. He may not work according to our timetable, but He is never indifferent, never powerless, and never truly too late. If you are living somewhere between the prayer and the answer, we hope this message strengthens your faith and reminds you to keep walking with Jesus. What has helped you trust God during a season of waiting? Share your thoughts or a favorite Scripture in the comments. Let’s encourage one another. Please like, subscribe, and share this message with someone who may need hope today. #WalkingInTheLight #Jesus #TrustGod #ChristianEncouragement #Faith #BibleStudy #Mark5 #ChristianLiving #ChurchOfChrist

    Emmanuel-God With Us

Have you ever noticed how much of the Bible is really about God drawing near to His people? From the God of heaven in the Old Testament, to His presence among Israel, to Jesus coming as Emmanuel—“God with us”—and now the Holy Spirit dwelling within Christians, Scripture tells a beautiful story of God wanting to be with His people. And the story still isn’t finished. Revelation points us toward the day when God will dwell with His people forever. God above us. God among us. God with us. God in us. God with us forever.

Strong Men for a Weak World

What does it really mean to be a strong man? The Bible’s answer is very different from the world’s. True strength is not about being controlling, aggressive, or never admitting weakness. It is about standing firm in faith, leading with love, accepting responsibility, practicing self-control, serving others, and following the example of Jesus Christ. In this message, “Strong Men for a Weak World,” we will look at God’s call in 1 Corinthians 16:13–14: "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love." Our homes, churches, children, and communities need faithful men who are willing to live with courage, humility, integrity, and sacrificial love. Which quality of biblical strength do you believe men need most today—faith, leadership, responsibility, self-control, or service? Share your thoughts in the comments, and invite someone to join the conversation. #StrongMen #ChristianMen #BiblicalManhood #Faith #ChristianLiving #WalkingInTheLight #ChurchOfChrist #JesusChrist

    The Armor of Light

Romans 13:11-14 is a powerful call to spiritual awakening and faithful living. Paul reminds Christians that “it is high time to awake out of sleep.” This is not a reference to physical sleep, but to spiritual laziness, complacency, and indifference. The Christian life requires awareness because “our salvation is nearer than when we believed.” Every day brings us closer to the fulfillment of God’s promises and, ultimately, to standing before Him in judgment. Because time is passing, Paul urges believers to “cast off the works of darkness” and “put on the armor of light.” Christians must deliberately reject sinful behavior and choose to live openly and honorably before God. Paul specifically warns against rioting, drunkenness, sexual immorality, strife, and jealousy. These things belong to the darkness, not to those who claim to follow Christ. Instead, believers are commanded to “put on the Lord Jesus Christ.” This means allowing Christ to shape our character, decisions, attitudes, and conduct. We are not to make provision for the flesh by planning or pursuing sinful desires. Romans 13:11-14 challenges every Christian to wake up, live in the light, and put Christ first. The question is not merely whether we believe in Jesus, but whether our daily lives demonstrate that we truly belong to Him.
