Hello! I love your show. Your most recent episode talked about people who are unable to take care of themselves for whatever reason. I just wanted you to think about how it is a privilege today to be able to afford clothes, and to have the resources and means to wash them, to have the resources and means to shower, to have the security and safety of a place to live. A lot of kids are dressing in more casual, loungewear (some of what is traditionally sleepwear, ex: pj bottoms or sweatpants), and I hope you know that for some, they truly might not care what they’re wearing. But for others, it’s a form of protest through fashion by going against the norm, and for others they might not have a choice because they do not have the same privileges that others in school do. We try to teach kids not to judge and make fun of others for their bodies and what they wear because you never know what they’re going through in life.
Have adults forgotten this? I think it’s especially important that we serve as examples of not judging those by how they look, or rather, how we have been taught to perceive them.
Yes this is your news your take, and your opinions and I listened to the full episode. However, maybe you could give your takes around this subject some more thought, that way we can harbor a healthier conversation about how we perceive another person’s presentation.
As we live through the rise of fascism and eugenics, let’s not shame people for existing outside of what you consider “normal.” Other people will hear what you say and find justification to repeat these things.
You just never know.
I know how open and accepting you all are. At the same time, kids (& people in general) who bully others for not being able to control their circumstances, will learn how to do so from how the world treats and speaks about others in their situation. Just a little food for thought to snack on, not trying to come after y’all.
Love y’all & thanks for reading.
