    SEEK THE LORD OF THE HARVEST (Matthew 9:35-38)

    SEEK THE LORD OF THE HARVEST | Matthew 9:35-38 | Week 1 of HARVEST Before we can reach the harvest, we must first seek the Lord of the harvest. In week one of our HARVEST series, we turn to Matthew 9:35–38 (NIV), where Jesus looks upon the crowds with compassion, recognizing the great need around Him. He reminds His disciples that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few, and calls them to one important response: "Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." — Matthew 9:38 (NIV) Before we can see the harvest clearly, step into the field, or join the mission, we must first seek Jesus in prayer. Reaching people isn't something we accomplish through our own strength, good intentions, or effort. It begins with allowing God to shape our hearts, align us with His mission, and empower His people. In this message, we explore four things we should be seeking as we pray: GOD'S HEART — "God, break my heart for what breaks yours." GOD'S MISSION — "Remind me that this life is temporary and that everything is yours." GOD'S POWER — "I need your power to do what my flesh often does not want to do." GOD'S PEOPLE — "May your church move together to see your kingdom grow." Our prayer is that God would give us His heart for the lost, His passion for the mission, His power to accomplish it, and unity as His Church. Throughout this HARVEST series, we'll explore the conversion stories throughout the book of Acts and discover how Jesus is still seeking, saving, and transforming lives through His Church today. The harvest is still plentiful. Let's start by seeking the Lord of the harvest. Our Prayer: "God, break my heart for what breaks yours, remind me that this life is temporary and that everything is yours. I need your power to do what my flesh often does not want to do, and may your church move together to see your kingdom grow.     Restoration (John 21)

    Restoration | John 21 | Week 7 of RED LETTERS You don't have to earn your way back to Jesus. You can live out of His love, not strive for it. In the final week of our RED LETTERS series, we turn to John 21 (NIV) for a powerful encounter between the risen Jesus and one of His closest disciples, Peter. Peter had denied Jesus three times. Now, after the resurrection, Jesus meets him on the shore, shares a meal with him, and asks him a question three times: “Do you love me?” This isn't just a conversation about Peter's failure. It's a story of forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration. Jesus doesn't leave Peter defined by his worst moments. Instead, He restores their relationship, reminds Peter of his calling, and invites him once again to follow. Through Peter's story, we discover an important truth: Jesus came that we may live out of His love, not strive for it. We don't have to spend our lives trying to prove we're good enough for God. Because of what Jesus has done for us, we can receive His love, walk in His forgiveness, and live out the calling He has placed on our lives. In this message, we'll explore three responses to Jesus' invitation: FACE THE FIRE — Bring your failures into the light, receive God's forgiveness, and stop allowing shame to keep you from Him. FEED THE SHEEP — Love and serve others, helping people discover the love of Jesus. FOLLOW JESUS — Stop striving to earn God's love and trust Him with your life, your future, and your next step. As we close the RED LETTERS series, Jesus' words to Peter become His invitation to us: “Follow me!” No matter where you've been or how you've fallen short, your failures don't have to be the end of your story. Jesus invites you into a restored relationship with Him and a life shaped by His love.     Kingdom Or Bust  | Matthew 13:44-50 | Week 6 of RED LETTERS What if discovering Jesus changes the value of everything else? In week six of our RED LETTERS series, we turn to one of Jesus' most powerful teachings about the Kingdom of God in Matthew 13:44–50 (ESV). Jesus describes the Kingdom as a hidden treasure and a pearl of great value. Two people discover it in completely different ways, but their response is the same: everything else is revalued because they have found something worth everything. But what exactly is the Kingdom? And what does it mean for us today? The Kingdom of God isn't simply a place we're going someday. It is God's reign breaking into the world through Jesus, the King. The King has come, and where Jesus is recognized, trusted, and obeyed, His Kingdom becomes visible. Pastor J.C. also explores Jesus' encounter with the Rich Young Ruler in Matthew 19:16–22 and Paul's words in Philippians 3:7–8. What separates the person who joyfully gives everything for the Kingdom from the person who walks away sorrowful? It's not ultimately about what they give up—it's about what they believe they are gaining. And Jesus ends His teaching with the sobering picture of the net: a reminder that the Kingdom is already here, but there is also a day when the King will return and every person will answer to Him. So the question isn't simply “Is the Kingdom worth everything?” The question is: Who is your King?     Faith To Forgive | Luke 17:1-6 | Week 5 of RED LETTERS How do we forgive when forgiveness feels impossible? In week five of our RED LETTERS series, Pastor Pat takes us to Luke 17:1–6 (NIV), where Jesus speaks directly to His disciples about stumbling blocks, sin, repentance, and forgiveness. Jesus doesn't pretend that relationships will always be easy. He warns His followers to be careful about the way they live, calls them to confront sin, and commands them to forgive—even when the offense happens again and again. The disciples' response is simple: “Increase our faith!” This message explores what biblical forgiveness really looks like. Forgiveness isn't pretending something didn't happen or calling something wrong “right.” It's a vertical commitment to trust God with justice, followed by a horizontal movement toward restoration when repentance takes place. And sometimes forgiveness means dealing with things that have taken root deep within us. Jesus' picture of a mulberry tree points us toward the kind of faith that can uproot old patterns and make room for God's way to grow in our lives.     Choosing The Better Portion | Luke 10:38-42 | Week 3 of RED LETTERS What happens when doing things for Jesus becomes more important than simply being with Jesus? In week three of our RED LETTERS series, we turn to Luke 10:38–42 and the familiar story of Mary and Martha. Through the words of Jesus, we discover that it’s possible to be busy serving, doing good things, and even welcoming Jesus into our lives—while becoming distracted from Jesus Himself. Martha was serving Jesus, but her service had become anxiety, frustration, and resentment. Mary chose to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen. Jesus called what she chose the “good portion.” This message explores what it means to slow down, pay attention to what is happening within us, and remember that our identity isn't found in what we accomplish for God. We don't work our way into the Father's love; we live and serve from the love we have already received.     A Theology of Suffering | John 9:1-7 | Week 2 of RED LETTERS Why does suffering happen? Where is God when we're hurting? And how should we respond when someone else is walking through suffering? In Week 2 of our RED LETTERS series, we turn to John 9:1–7 (NIV), where Jesus encounters a man who had been blind from birth. Rather than getting caught up in the question of why this suffering happened, Jesus redirects His disciples toward what God is doing—and toward an opportunity to bring healing, mercy, and love. RED LETTERS explores passages from the Gospels where Jesus spoke, discovering how His words can still challenge, transform, and shape our lives today. In A Theology of Suffering, we wrestle honestly with the reality of suffering and learn how to trust God when life hurts. But we also consider the other side of suffering: What do we do when we're not the ones hurting? How do we enter into the suffering of others when our own lives are going well? Charles Spurgeon captured this challenge beautifully: “It is ours, not to speculate, but to perform acts of mercy and love, according to the tenor of the gospel.” Jesus calls us away from simply asking questions about suffering and toward being present, compassionate, and practical—bringing the love of Christ to people who are hurting.
