    91: The Season of Pruning

In this episode, I share what I’ve been moving through lately - a season of pruning. A quiet inner shedding of what no longer feels aligned so that something more true can emerge. We explore what it means to return to your authentic self beneath conditioning, perfectionism, and busyness - and how creating space, slowing down, and allowing ourselves to feel is what reconnects us to our creativity and inner truth. I also share a personal story of singing in a concert for the first time since eighth grade, and how that moment brought me back into the experience of shared voice, belonging, and creative aliveness. This is a conversation about remembering, beginning again, and choosing imperfection as a path back to life. In This Episode: * The season of pruning and inner alignment * Why space is necessary to hear your soul * How busyness disconnects us from ourselves * Emotional release and nervous system softening * Perfectionism as protection, not truth * Reclaiming creativity through imperfection * Singing in community and the experience of shared voice * Learning new things as a path back to aliveness * Choosing messy beginnings over waiting to be ready Key Themes: * Authentic self remembrance * Creativity as life force * Nervous system and slowing down * Community and shared expression * Courage to begin again Reflection Questions: * Where am I pruning in my life right now? * What parts of me come forward when I slow down? * Where has perfectionism kept me from starting? * What is one thing I could begin imperfectly this week? If this resonates, I’d love to stay connected with you through my writing and upcoming gatherings. You can find me on Substack and through my website, where I’m slowly creating spaces for creativity, connection, and remembering together. Thank you for listening and thank you for being you. 90: Sometimes We Need Fresh Eyes

A new friend came to my home this week. As we walked around the yard, she kept pointing out things she loved. The trees. The charm. The little details I hardly notice anymore. The funny thing about living somewhere for a long time is that you stop seeing it. What once felt special becomes familiar. What once felt magical becomes ordinary. And as she spoke, something shifted in me. I began seeing my home through her eyes. Not through the lens of what needs fixing. Not through the lens of what might come next. Not through the lens of comparison. But through appreciation. And it made me wonder: How often do we stop seeing the beauty that’s already here simply because we’ve been looking at it from the same angle for too long? Lately I’ve been paying attention to the subtle ways scarcity still shows up in my life. Not necessarily around money. But in the feeling that something needs to be different before I can fully relax. Before I can fully appreciate what’s here. Before I can feel complete. Yet sitting with this experience, I realized something. The beauty hadn’t disappeared. I had simply stopped noticing it. And perhaps that happens in more places than we realize. Our homes. Our relationships. Our gifts. Our lives. Sometimes what we need isn’t a new life. Sometimes we need a fresh pair of eyes. One of the phrases that has been following me lately arrived while I was sitting on my red bench before a morning walk: “Gratitude is a receptor.” I didn’t fully understand it at first. But the more I sat with it, the more I felt it. When gratitude moves beyond a thought and becomes a feeling in the body, something opens. The heart softens. The nervous system relaxes. The body begins to feel safe. And from that place, we become available to receive. New ideas. New possibilities. New perspectives. New moments of joy. Not because life suddenly changes. But because we become present enough to notice what is already here. That is what this week’s podcast episode explores. A simple story. A perspective shift. And a reminder that perhaps there is more beauty, abundance, and possibility surrounding us than we’ve been able to see. Thank you for walking alongside me. And today, I leave you with a question: What in your life might look different if you viewed it through fresh eyes? The booklet and cards exude the love you put into this project and you should be so proud of the outcome! I want to tell you how much I love the little wooden stand that came with your deck. I have been pulling my card before bed and putting it on my stand on my side table. It’s the first thing I see when I wake up and reminds me to think of the message of the day.” “Shannon, this deck is SO beautiful! I love it so much - it’s very special. I haven’t been pulling cards lately or felt very connected to my spirituality, so this seems like the perfect timing to receive it. I really love the display and card holder. 85: What Does Awakening Really Mean?

Dear friends, I’ve been feeling deeply called to dive into the question: What does awakening really mean? What does it mean to truly wake up in our lives? It’s a journey that calls to us in unique ways—through the challenges we face, the quiet moments of self-reflection, and the times we question our own path. So, what does awakening look like? For some, it’s a shift from the familiar routine to something that feels aligned with their heart. For others, it’s the experience of loss or unexpected life events that push us to see life through a new lens. However it unfolds, awakening is deeply personal and beautifully unique. It’s a process of rediscovering and celebrating our true selves. In moments of reflection, we reconnect with our essence—our true nature. We’re reminded that we are part of a cycle, just like the seasons. Awakening means embracing the highs, the lows, and the inner callings that make us who we are. It’s about honoring our uniqueness, learning to listen, and trusting the music within. No matter where you are in your journey, know that you’re not alone. Many of us are waking up to our own truths, unlearning what no longer serves us, and leaning into what feels real. I’m grateful to be on this journey with you, and I hope today’s message reminds you of the beauty of your own path. Enjoy listening to this episode or watch it on YouTube. In this episode, we dive into: * Recognizing signs of awakening in your life. * The role of challenges and life shifts in awakening. * Learning to connect with and trust your true nature. * Embracing change as a catalyst for growth and authenticity. * Why we need community and a sense of belonging in these times. Join me in this episode as we explore what it means to wake up and live from a place of inner alignment, authenticity, and self-compassion. Thank you for being here on this journey with me!
