An excerpt of an interview from the City Limits show in 1999 featuring notorious trade unionist Jack Mundey, a member of the Builders' Labourers Federation in NSW and driver of the green bans.     Welcome to the Monday Breakfast Show, on the show this week we had:  Headlines:  Violence against Flotilla participants draws international pressure on IsraelCongo Ebola Outbreak and death toll higher than official reports - From the archives: for the 21st anniversary broadcast of National Sorry Day, 3CR's Radioactive Show aired an interview between Aunty Hazel Collins, one of the founders of Grandmothers Against Removals, originally played by the Central Australia Aboriginal Media Association with host Teghan Hughes. Grandmothers Against Removal are an organisation working on the frontlines to prevent children from being removed from their families and creating yet another stolen generation. Aunty Hazel Collins and Teghan speak about the injustices faced by children who are removed from their families by the colonial government. The interview starts by addressing comments aired on Sunrise in March 2018 in which they implied that the Stolen Generation was necessary and needed to happen again. GMAR is holding a rally they've organised on Tuesday at 10AM outside Preston Town Hall calling for the end of child removals. Two weeks ago Zylstra was a signatory among other scientists and researchers with GECO, Goongerah Environment Centre, calling to stop Planned burns in the Snowy River National Park. We chat about the impacts of Vic Forest Fire Management's prescribed burns on wet forests and the consequences they will have in the future. - Over the weekend many people across this continent gathered to commemorate the ANZACs' involvement in World War One. Research published by the War Studies Group at the University of NSW Canberra last year shows that while 90% of people believe in the importance of ANZAC Day, yet just over half of people on this continent actually engage in ANZAC Day Services.     Headlines:“Silencing Dissent”: Protest Crackdowns Spark Civil Liberties AlarmHealth Students Forced to Work for Free as Cost-of-Living Crisis Continues to BitGrassroots Organising Surges as Renewable Energy Network Launches Segments:- Last week it was revealed that the federal government had formed a taskforce known as the 'razor gang', tasked with cutting the NDIS to make it more 'sustainable' ahead of the May budget. The revelation attracted scrutiny from independent MPs in the halls of parliament, but as usual much of the reporting - and potentially even the budget consultations themselves - failed to elevate disabled voices. As such, the Monday breakfast show was joined by Zoe Simmons, a journalist and disability advocate to talk about the razor gang and accessing the NDIS.   -  An excerpt of a conversation between Out Of The Pan's Sally Goldner and Bonnie Hart, a longtime intersex advocate and peer support worker. The pair talk about the legislation passed in Victoria banning medical intervention on children born with variations in sex characteristics. We did have a conversation with Dr Sean Mulcahy from Equality Australia about this legislation, however the legislation is so hugely important for people born with sex characteristics that we feel it is worth playing a separate interview on this. Community members were able to successfully stop work for three days last week, and over 1300 people contacted decision makers to condemn the clearing of the Mt Macedon Snow Gums.Nonetheless, in a tragic escalation of events, an exclusion zone was enforced around the cross, and on Saturday morning the trees were felled.  Devastated community members held a vigil for the snow gums on Sunday, and continue to condemn the actions of Parks Victoria and the Memorial Cross Committee. - Kaye shares with Amy Ciara their journey within a variety of different circumstances with; homelessness; gender identity with DID; finding community and more.
