News: Former Disney CEO Bob Iger has been honored with a new window on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland, unveiled just before his induction as a Disney Legend. The window, located above the main entrance to the Emporium, presents Iger as the “Chief Architect” of New Century Builders, a reference to the many expansions and changes he oversaw during his time leading Disney. – https://www.laughingplace.com/disney-parks/bob-iger-window-on-main-street/ Disney is retiring the Play Disney Parks app on September 16, bringing an end to an app that has been part of the parks since 2018. The app offered interactive games and trivia, attraction-based activities, digital achievements, and experiences throughout Disneyland and Walt Disney World. At Disneyland, one of its biggest features was the Star Wars: Datapad, which allowed guests to explore Galaxy’s Edge by scanning objects and interacting with droids. The $99.99 figure can be customized with themed gear packs inspired by different destinations across the galaxy, which are sold separately for $29.99 each. News: Disney has released the first teaser for Disney Worldbuilders, a new Disney+ documentary from filmmaker Leslie Iwerks that explores how Disney stories become theme park experiences. Don Iwerks, the son of fellow Disney Legend Ub Iwerks, and father of Leslie Iwerks, passed away on July 9th, he was 96.
