    Survivor: Marquesas Vecepia Robinson-Beyond The Torch

    In this episode of Beyond the Torch, host Leslie Nease is joined by guest co-host Scott Ransom (a fan contest winner) to interview Vecepia Robinson, the winner of Survivor: Marquesas and the first African American woman to ever win the show! Vecepia shares the remarkable story of how she applied to Survivor after praying for an opportunity and mailing in a memorable audition tape of herself jumping out of a tree, and recounts how she was nearly overlooked at final auditions before boldly making her way onto the cast. She discusses her deep Christian faith — including a spiritual encounter with a friend in the Air Force, her path to giving her life to God, and how she reconciled playing a "non-Christian game" with her beliefs while on the island — as well as her clever use of a poetry book as a luxury item to secretly study and remember her tribemates for challenges.
