I thought that this was a great first episode and if this is an indication of future episodes, it will be a great source of learning outside the classroom. The definition of partisanship served as the foundation for the episode. Both speakers referenced the definition in their sports analogies. I enjoyed the sports analogies because I think that it is universally something people can connect to. Both speakers referenced Boston, but also connected these analogies to New York. I thought this was beneficial because it allowed people to relate to the point that the speakers were trying to make. My favorite part was that each speaker learned from one another and as students we can learn from them, but also teach them a thing or two. This demonstrated that learning comes full circle. Also, it was great how you both bounced ideas off each other and were not looking at a script, which created a comfortable atmosphere. However, maybe next time you can reference another interest such as movies, songs, or books to the analogies. I thought the length of the episode was ok because it was like having another class period, but my attention began to wander. I did, however, like having the break. It allowed me to soak up all the information that I just heard and prepare for the next half of the episode. It was both informative, yet argumentative. Great first episode!
