This podcast is awful. You will find xenophobic remarks such as “all the illegal immigrants come and litter in the US parks.”
Worse, the guy behind this podcast, Elliot Temple, is a bad, dangerous person.
He runs a cult (previously ‘Fallible Ideas’, now the ‘Critical Fallibilism’ forum) where he boasts that he “can break anyone.”
Among his notable offenses are invasion of privacy, verbal abuse, public shaming, extensive, repeat plagiarism (by his own standard, including on this podcast), disregard for copyright, and more.
He has lied about people to ruin their reputation and laughed about it.
I know people who have had to seek therapy because of him. He gets in their heads, ‘breaks’ them, then accuses them of being obsessed with him.
You don’t ever want to get on his radar. Virtually all long-time associates have distanced themselves from him.
Don’t take my word for it, though. Several others have described their experience knowing Temple (the first two quotes are his own, brackets mine):
“Receiving an e-mail from [Temple] is sheer fear and revulsion before I even look at it.”
“[A]ny project that one does decide to undertake will be less likely derailed or poisoned were [Temple] not involved.”
“[Elliot Temple] is a truly damaging vile person.”
I left his cult six years ago and I’m still dealing with the consequences. Listeners beware. If he doesn’t know you exist, keep it that way.
