    Episode 27: The Community Endures

Well, we finally have some news, but it's not the news we wanted. But, we start with our report on our biggest tournament in a while (8 players!), and a breakdown from a special guest on her first Runewars tournament experience. We also give some feedback on our lists and Shane's newest tournament tweaks to see what we thought. Then, of course, on to the news that Runewars OP is shut down. While it doesn't seem to bode well for the future of the game, and we likely won't see any new releases either, the beginnings of a community effort to sustain tournament play have begun. What are the plans so far, and what does it mean for you, the Runewars player? While it's still new, we believe there is some reason to be hopeful. Thanks for listening! 3. 12/20/2018

Episode 26: The Year of the Uthuk

We've made it to the end...of 2018. In our last episode for the year, we start with a look back at our recent tournament. Shane got to use some crazy Latari shenanigans, Josh played the list that Discord gave him, and JJ beat both of them. Find out how our new scoring system and tournament setup ideas worked and what we liked from our lists (hint: Entrancing Gaze).   We also take a further look back to the big four tournaments from this year that we have results for: U.S. Nationals, U.K. Nationals, North American Championships and Worlds. What overall trend did we see in these tournaments, where do we think that puts us competitively, and what can we look forward to next year? Happy Holidays to those who celebrate, and for those who don't, we hope you enjoy the season. Catch you all in 2019! 4. 11/29/2018

    Episode 25: Traffic

Finally, we got to it! We've been talking about our community-building episode, and now that Worlds is over and there's a lull in releases and news, we can actually talk about it. We go over Shane's ideas about strengthening your local Runewars scene, and how to draw both new and existing players. Complete with some carefully built and tested 120-point army ideas (see our Facebook page) for demo games, we set you up for GREAT SUCCESS! Shane has also been scheming some tournament tweaks to try to even things out that we'll be experimenting with in a couple weeks, including a fun setup wrinkle! It's all in the tournament doc, also linked in the Facebook post. 5. 11/08/2018

Episode 24: The North Carolinians Take Minneapolis

You know what's cool? When one of your hosts comes in third place at Worlds, and another local player and friend (and first-ever podcast guest) comes in second! This one is just a big ol' Worlds recap with JJ and Shane talking about their experiences, their games, and the fantastic Runewars community. (Disclaimer: Josh's mic was doing some strange things during recording, so some of his audio is not up to our usual quality. We apologize if it makes parts of the episode even more difficult than usual to listen to.)   Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/InitiaYiveOnePodcast/, or Tweet at us @InitOnePodcast.  Join us on our Discord server: https://discord.gg/VrHN2vh Thanks for listening!   "Colossus" "Crossing the Chasm" "Five Armies" Kevin MacLeod (incompletech.com)

  6. 10/18/2018

Episode 23: Time to FAQ for Worlds!

It's late, and I'm tired. What the FAQ did we talk about? I think there were some FAQing articles...oh yeah, Prince F (and his new nickname) and the Obscenes. We definitely talked about those. There was something else that we added in at the last FAQing minute...what was it? Oh yeah, the new tournament regulations (quad party tents!). Hmm...seems like that wasn't all. OH YEAH NEW FAQ! After a long time, we finally have clarification on a ton of things, thanks FFG (completely unironically).  Players going in to Worlds got a ton of questions answered...almost everything. We answer the only big question I know of still with help from a sentence diagram. We wrap it up with a brief look at Worlds deployments and objectives, talk a little about what we expect, and I think we even gave a few FAQing brilliant insights to help the players who are going. 7. 09/27/2018

Episode 22: The Brotherhood of Cool or 17 Point Stun Dummy

Back to normal, where we record the day before an article. We finally know everything in the Baron Z and Lord V boxes, so we look at a few ways you might build them out.  Articles are coming at a rapid pace, and we saw a bunch of new stuff for the Uthuk. Viper Legion dials, an equipment that comes with them, and a whole pile of stuff (well, a small portion of the huge pile) that comes with Th'Uk Tar and Gorgemaw. We review some of those cards, make wild guesses at some we can't see, and wander into some dubious speculation about Terrinoth lore. 8. 09/13/2018

Episode 21: Something Wicked This Way Comes

We're back from our week off, and lo and behold, there was a new article on recording day! There's a little bit of new stuff with the second Ventala article, so we talk about their new champion slot upgrade, Warden of Horn and Branch, the full reveal of Flank Fire, and about their possible place in the Latari.  There's also new stuff on the horizon with Baron Z and Lord V releasing next week, so we take a look at how they might shake up the meta and help their factions be more competitive, especially Lord V.  We also talk a little bit about a couple playtest games that Shane and Josh played, in which they discovered that Wraiths are weird and tanky Kethra is amazing.
