You Can’t Serve God and Money—Here’s What Jesus Meant

What if your bank statement could reveal something about your relationship with God? In Luke 16:9–13, Jesus makes an uncomfortable connection between money, faithfulness, and worship. He doesn’t say you can’t have money and serve God. He says you cannot serve both God and money. So how do you know when money has stopped being a tool and started becoming your master? In this video, we walk through 3 tests that expose what money may be revealing about your heart: What are you asking money to give you? What happens when your money feels threatened? What are you doing with what God has already placed in your hands? We’ll also use the Redprint framework to help you recognize what money is exposing, reorganize the lies underneath it, rediscover what is true, rebuild your financial habits, and refine the way you steward what God has given you. Before this video ends, I’m going to challenge you to do something practical: open your real bank or credit card statement and look at the last seven days. Then finish this sentence: “My money shows me that I’ve been trusting ______.” This is not prosperity gospel. It’s not about believing that if you handle $100 correctly, God owes you $100,000. It’s about stewardship. Money can be a useful servant—but it was never designed to be your savior. If this challenged you, comment below: Which of the three tests exposed the most for you? “There are really no failures in life. There are just people that give up.” - Bill Quateman

What does it take to build a meaningful life when the path doesn’t go according to plan?In this episode of the Better Than Best Academy, Red Wallace sits down with Bill Quateman for a wide-ranging conversation about fatherhood, discipline, reinvention, entrepreneurship, health, service, and becoming the man life is calling you to become.Bill shares lessons from his journey through the music industry, publishing, business, parenting, and regenerative health—including being signed during the Clive Davis era at Columbia Records, publishing his own book after facing rejection, and eventually building a career focused on helping others live healthier lives. We talk about why fathers sometimes need to be both a willow and an oak, why “no” can be an expression of love, the importance of teaching children to sit still in a world filled with distraction, and why the obstacles in your life may actually be developing the person you need to become.Bill also shares one of the principles that has shaped his life:“There are really no failures in life. There are just people that give up.”In this conversation, we cover:- Why discipline gives young men direction- Being a strong “rudder” for your children- Why the hardest thing to do may be nothing- Meditation and learning to sit in silence- Failure, resilience, and refusing to quit- Reinventing yourself when life changes direction- Why creativity and business require different mindsets- Serving something bigger than yourself- Finding the courage to do hard things- Thinking about longevity, health, and “peak span”- Why your goals must begin with knowing what you actually want- The importance of living from loveCHAPTERS:00:00 No Failures Mindset01:03 Welcome and Guest Intro01:43 Music Backgrounds Connect02:51 Young Bill and Beatles Spark06:19 Discipline and Focus Lessons07:46 Parenting Boundaries Today13:09 Love and Quiet Practice16:41 Clive Davis Breakthrough19:04 Service Over Showbiz22:48 From Music to Publishing24:56 Oprah Call to Health Pivot26:22 Writing With Purpose27:21 Books As Business28:41 Creative Meets CEO31:53 Embrace The Hard33:58 Ego And Flow34:59 Health Origin Story37:07 Peakspan And Metabolism40:16 First Steps At 3343:41 Connect And Testing45:00 Lightning Round Wisdom47:57 Final Quote And FarewellLearn more about Bill and Advanced BioCell: https://advancedbiocell.comIf you’re a Christian husband, father, leader, or builder who wants to become better in the areas of life that matter most, subscribe to the Better Than Best Academy.Comment below: What is one difficult season of your life that ultimately made you stronger?

Your Bad Habit Isn’t the Real Problem

You keep getting defensive. You overwork. You procrastinate. You escape into your phone. You lose your temper—and even when you promise yourself you’ll change, the same negative patterns keep coming back. For Christian men trying to grow in their marriage, faith, leadership, and emotional health, simply trying harder isn’t always enough. In this video, we’ll look at why you keep repeating the same patterns, what may be underneath defensiveness, anger, overworking, procrastination, and phone addiction, and how God can transform more than just your behavior. Sometimes the habit isn’t the deepest problem. Your defensiveness may be protecting a fear of failure.Your overworking may be tied to believing your worth comes from what you accomplish.Your phone may be helping you avoid discomfort, loneliness, or emotions you don’t know how to sit with. You can change the behavior while leaving the root untouched. That’s why real Christian personal growth requires more than behavior modification. It requires allowing God to reveal what the behavior may be protecting, proving, avoiding, or trying to control. In this video, I’ll walk you through a simple three-step process: SEARCH — RESPOND — REMAIN SEARCH: Go beneath the behavior and ask what is really happening inside you. RESPOND: Choose one faithful action instead of automatically repeating the old pattern. REMAIN: Stay present when discomfort makes you want to defend yourself, withdraw, escape, or return to what feels familiar. If you’ve been wondering how to stop being defensive, how to break bad habits, how to become a better husband, or why you keep repeating the same mistakes, this process can help you move from temporary behavior change toward deeper spiritual formation. God isn’t merely interested in making you look better on the outside. He wants to form the man underneath it all—a man who can receive correction without collapsing, lead without controlling, rest without feeling worthless, be present without constantly escaping, and love without always defending himself. You Don’t Need More Information—You Need This

What if the personal development content you’re consuming isn’t helping you grow—but helping you hide? For years, I read the books, bought the courses, filled journals with ideas, and listened to countless podcasts. It felt productive, but my life barely changed. The problem wasn’t a lack of information. It was a lack of application. Most of us believe we need more knowledge, confidence, clarity, or motivation before we take action. But confidence usually doesn’t come before the step. It is built through taking the step, surviving failure, learning, and moving again. In this video, we explore why personal development can become a form of procrastination, what biblical obedience actually looks like, and how to escape the endless cycle of learning without doing. You’ll discover how to:• Make your first step embarrassingly small• Create accountability that outlasts motivation• Measure faithful actions instead of immediate outcomes• Treat failure as useful data• Consume less and create more• “Ship ugly” instead of waiting for perfection• Recognize what God may already be asking you to do• Become disciplined by repeatedly keeping your promisesJoshua marched before the walls fell. Peter stepped out of the boat before he experienced the miracle. Abraham walked. Moses stretched out his staff. The confidence came after the obedience. You may not be able to see God’s entire plan for your life. But like headlights on a dark road, He may be showing you enough to take the next faithful step.So ask yourself:What conversation have I been avoiding? What responsibility have I been neglecting?Who can I encourage or serve today? What can I finish in the next 30 minutes? What step do I already know I need to take?CHAPTERS:00:00 Self Help Confession00:55 Confidence Comes After01:44 Faith Before Clarity03:39 The Learning Loop Trap04:13 Six Action Principles06:52 Coach For Next Steps07:49 Identity Through Repetition08:28 Finding Gods Next Step11:45 Community Invitation12:52 Prayer And SendoffDon’t consume another big idea until you’ve tested the last one.👇 Comment below: What is your next faithful step?Join the free Better Than Best Brotherhood:https://www.skool.com/better-than-best-academy-5909/aboutBook a one-on-one conversation with me:https://calendly.com/coachredwallace/let-s-talk-about-itSubscribe for more Christian encouragement, practical personal development, and conversations about becoming who God has called and created you to be.#ChristianMotivation #FaithInAction #PersonalDevelopment

The Hidden Idol Most Men Never Notice

What would your calendar, bank statements, screen time, and daily habits reveal about what you truly worship? It is easy to say that God, faith, and family matter most. But sometimes our routines tell a different story. In this video, we examine how good things—work, money, success, family, productivity, and even responsibility—can quietly become idols when we depend on them for the identity, security, control, or peace that only God can provide.I also share a painful moment from the birth of my first child that exposed where I instinctively turned when life felt uncertain. The problem was not simply that I was working too much. Work had become the place where I went to feel safe and in control. In this conversation, you will discover:• How your habits train your heart to love• Why the most dangerous idols often look responsible• How work can become an altar for control• What your calendar reveals about your real priorities• Why good desires can become cruel masters• How the gospel frees you from performance-based identity• One practical change you can make this weekJesus said, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”You do not need to rearrange your life to earn God’s love. In Christ, you are already loved, chosen, and accepted. The goal is not to work for an identity, but to begin living from the identity you have already received.CHAPTERS:00:00 What You Really Worship00:45 Habits Shape Your Love01:31 Labor Room Wake Up Call02:37 Where You Run For Peace03:25 Ill Finally Have Peace When04:09 Treasure Reveals The Heart06:05 Good Things Become Idols07:49 Gospel Freedom From Performance09:05 One Faithful Change10:13 Coaching Invitation11:17 Final Question For Your WeekBefore you watch another video, open your calendar and look at the next seven days.Ask yourself:“What does my schedule reveal about the man I am becoming?”Then make one faithful change—not to prove your devotion, but to practice it.If this video exposed a deeper belief or pattern that has been keeping you stuck, apply for the Red Print Hot Seat. I Spent $6,000 I Didn’t Have and Hid It From My Wife

Making more money may help your financial situation—but it won’t automatically change the person managing it.Money magnifies the man.If you’re disciplined, generous, and honest, more money gives those qualities greater reach. But if you avoid your finances, chase every new opportunity, make decisions from fear, or keep financial secrets from your spouse, more money can magnify those patterns too.In this video, I share the painful lesson I learned after spending $6,000 I didn’t have on a coaching program without telling my wife—and the three-step framework that helped me understand what was really happening beneath that decision:Recognize the beliefRemove the weedReplace it with a rhythmYou may genuinely need more income. You Don’t Need More. You Need To Surrender

What has God already placed in your hands? In this message, we look at a powerful biblical pattern: God often begins His greatest work with ordinary people holding ordinary things. Moses had a staff. David had a sling and stones. A young boy had five loaves and two fish. None of it looked impressive at first, but when it was surrendered to God, it became more than enough.Maybe you’ve been waiting to feel qualified, ready, confident, or resourced before you take the next step. But God is not asking you to start with what someone else has. He is asking you to use what He has already placed in your hands. This message will encourage you to stop waiting, stop comparing, and start surrendering your gifts, skills, story, opportunities, and obedience to God.You are in God’s hands, so use what is in yours. If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that God can use what they already have.Join the Better Than Best Brotherhood School community and apply for a complimentary Red Print Hot Seat.https://www.skool.com/better-than-best-academy-5909/aboutCHAPTERS:00:00 Look at Your Hands01:29 My Hidden Seasons03:51 God Uses Ordinary04:00 Moses and the Staff04:49 David and the Stone05:31 Loaves and Fishes06:38 Stop Waiting Start Surrendering07:27 Small Beginnings Matter08:03 Child in the Fathers Hand09:11 Jesus Pierced Hands11:16 Closing Challenge and InvitationWHO AM IHey, I'm Red Wallace, a former rapper(10 year career) current drummer turned personal development coach.
