Reading Trek is a literary review podcast of books from the Star Trek expanded universe. The two hosts (Marty and Will) read a book, give a synopsis of the story from start to finish, and then expand the discussion of the book from its relation to the Star Trek universe, favorite quotes, and how they find it relates to canonical Trek. There have guest hosts who have a strong relationship to the character or series in which the novel takes place, and even interviews with the authors of the books. I like that the hosts come to the episode with research behind the book and ready to discuss it. They also take listener requests for upcoming episodes. I also like that they spend more time with discussion than they do with a recap of the story. This is a good podcast for those who both enjoy Star Trek and are curious about the series of novels, or for someone who is new to reading the tie-ins. There are less than 20 episodes as of this review, so it’s a great time to get listening. I would give Reading Trek 5 out of 5 tribbles! LLAP
