Takeaways from this episode: • Have a safe environment where you can disagree. • Put your ideas out there and don’t be so emotionally attached to your idea that you can’t recognize someone else has a better idea. • A lot of times we gloss over things because we are to busy patting ourselves on the back for what a good job we did. • Ask your self “ how can we make it better”. • Constantly evaluate what you are doing. • Evaluation is hard because it forces collaboration. Quotes: • “Don’t be content with where you are, lets keep growing” Robbie Ellis • “Have a healthy discontent in your area of ministry” Steve Smith • “You have to be humble and will to receive criticism” Steve Miller • “Progress is celebrated, and we win together” Steve Miller • “People don’t leave jobs, they leave managers” Steve Smith Practical Application: • Evaluation and Collaboration. • Open yourself up to constructive criticism. • Get a fresh perspective. • Consistently send thank you notes whether verbally or written. • Celebrate wins together. • Be willing to try new things. • Remember you are a team.
