    Clayface, Street Fighter and Compton Comics Expo | Fantastic Forum

    Clayface is getting under our skin, Street Fighter is bringing the fight to the big screen, and Compton is making comic book history! This week on Fantastic Forum, we're talking DC's new horror film Clayface, the latest Street Fighter movie, and the first annual Compton Comics Expo.   First up, Clayface takes one of Batman's most tragic villains into full-on body horror. Directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan and Hossein Amini, the film follows Matt Hagen, an aspiring Hollywood actor whose desperate attempt to reclaim his life takes a horrifying turn. With Tom Rhys Harries leading the cast, this isn't your typical superhero movie. It's a descent into obsession, transformation, and revenge. How does this new take on Gotham's shapeshifting villain hold up?   Then it's time to throw down! Street Fighter brings Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, and an outrageous roster of familiar fighters back into the spotlight. Set in 1993, the film sends estranged fighters Ryu and Ken into the World Warrior Tournament, where a deadly conspiracy threatens to turn their rivalry into something much more dangerous. We're talking legendary fighters, iconic moves, and whether this big-screen brawl delivers a knockout.   And we're celebrating the inaugural Compton Comics Expo! Presented by Studio Skye-Tiger in partnership with the Compton 125 Historical Society, this first-of-its-kind event brought comic creators, cosplay, panels, and community together at Compton College. We're looking back at the expo, the creators who made it happen, and what this new convention means for the local comics scene.     Jonah Hex And The Shadow Of Death #1 and The Demon #1 | Fantastic Forum

    The Old West is haunted, Hell is hungry, and DC is making sure nobody gets a peaceful night's sleep. This week on Fantastic Forum, we're diving into two new #1 issues: Jonah Hex and the Shadow of Death and The Demon. In Jonah Hex and the Shadow of Death #1, writer and artist Michael Walsh takes DC's hard-bitten bounty hunter into supernatural horror.     Midnight X-Men #1, Midnight Spider-Man #1 & Midnight Fantastic Four #1 | Fantastic Forum

    Marvel is taking some of its biggest heroes into the darkness, and things are about to get seriously weird.     Lanterns Season Finale and Hellraiser: Resurrections | Fantastic Forum

    One season of Lanterns comes to an end, while Pinhead and the Cenobites are making their return to comics. This week on Fantastic Forum, we're looking at the Lanterns season finale and diving into Hellraiser: Resurrections from BOOM! Studios. After eight episodes, the journey of John Stewart and Hal Jordan has reached its first major conclusion. Lanterns has taken the Green Lantern mythos in a grounded, character-driven direction, following veteran Lantern Hal Jordan and rookie John Stewart as they uncover a mystery with consequences far beyond Earth. Now we're looking at the season finale, where John's journey finally brings him to the moment we've been waiting for. What worked, what surprised us, and where does Lanterns go from here? Then we're opening the box again. Hellraiser: Resurrections marks the return of Hellraiser to comics, with a series of one-shots setting the stage for a new ongoing series.     Stuart Fails To Save The Universe and Crowbound #1 | Fantastic Forum

    The world has ended, a mother is searching for her daughter, and somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, a comic book store owner has accidentally broken the universe. This week on Fantastic Forum, we're talking about Image Comics' Crowbound and the new HBO Max series Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. First up is Crowbound, the new ongoing series from Jeff Lemire and Dustin Nguyen. Rose lives in the shadow of the Factory, a massive structure that has divided what remains of the world. When her young daughter Ava is taken, Rose is offered one last chance to save her, but the price is her soul. Part post-apocalyptic neo-Western, part southern gothic, and part dark fantasy, Crowbound is a bleak and mysterious world filled with strange creatures, dangerous choices, and plenty of questions about just how far a parent will go to save their child. Then we're breaking reality with Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. Kevin Sussman returns as Stuart Bloom, the comic book store owner from The Big Bang Theory, who finds himself responsible for an honest-to-goodness multiverse crisis after accidentally damaging a device created by Sheldon and Leonard. Now Stuart, Denise, Bert, and Barry Kripke have to put reality back together before everything falls apart. Because apparently running a comic book store wasn't stressful enough. Dark fantasy and multiverse chaos make for a pretty strange combination, but that's exactly what we've got this week. We're talking Crowbound and Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. Let's get weird.     Gotham is going green, and not in a particularly healthy way. Batman: Bad Seeds has arrived, and Poison Ivy's latest attempt to reshape Gotham has turned the entire city into a prehistoric nightmare.     Batman: Knightfall Part 1, Doom Patrol #1, Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World's Weirdest #1 | Fantastic Forum

    Batman is breaking, the Doom Patrol is broke, and Weird Al is apparently the only person who can save the universe from becoming boring. This week on Fantastic Forum, we're talking Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall, The Doom Patrol #1, and Batman/Superman/Weird Al: World's Weirdest #1. First up, we're taking a look at Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall, the new animated adaptation of the classic DC storyline. With Arkham Asylum destroyed, Gotham's villains running loose, and Bane waiting in the wings, Batman is pushed to his physical and mental limits. Based on one of the most consequential Batman stories of the '90s, this is the beginning of a trilogy bringing Knightfall, Knightquest, and Knightsend to the screen. Then it's time for the world's strangest heroes. The Doom Patrol #1, written by Darcy Van Poelgeest with art by Niko Henrichon, finds the team in financial and emotional trouble, forcing them to take on a heroes-for-hire gig. Unfortunately, what looks like a simple missing-cat case turns into something much, much stranger. Because apparently even the Doom Patrol can't just have a normal Tuesday. And finally, Batman and Superman are teaming up with Weird Al Yankovic in World's Weirdest #1, written by Mark Waid with art by Dan Schoening and Fico Ossio. When an affliction makes everything in the fifth dimension, and eventually Earth, dull and ordinary, the World's Finest need help from the one man uniquely qualified to fight the forces of blandness. It's Batman, Superman, and Weird Al. Honestly, what more explanation do we need? Three very different kinds of weird, one very busy episode. Let's get into it.     Long Beach Comic Con 2026 and Superman: The Stranger #1 | Fantastic Forum

    Long Beach Comic Con is back with new ownership, a new approach, and plenty to prove. Meanwhile, DC is taking Superman back to his Golden Age roots. This week on Fantastic Forum, we're talking Long Beach Comic Con 2026 and Superman: The Stranger #1.   Long Beach Comic Con is promising to make 2026 its biggest and best year yet, bringing two packed days of comics, toys, video games, anime, manga, TV, movies, cosplay, and more to Southern California. We're taking a look at the new era of LBCC, what the convention has to offer, and whether the changes are delivering on that promise.   Then we're heading back to the beginning with Superman: The Stranger #1, written and illustrated by Wes Craig with colors by Jason Wordie. This six-issue DC Black Label series revisits Superman's early days in Metropolis, giving us a younger, less-established Man of Steel who is still figuring out exactly what kind of hero he wants to be. We're digging into Craig's take on the character and asking whether going back to Superman's roots gives us a new perspective on one of comics' most familiar heroes.   New owners, old-school Superman, and plenty to talk about.
