Interview: The Healing Power of Growth - Talking 'Under the Under' with Vocalist LF

Over half a decade on from the release of their debut album, 'The Smothering Arms of Mercy', Melbourne progressive-death outfit Growth have re-emerged with their sophomore album 'Under The Under', the first new music from the long-awaited second chapter of their planned trilogy aimed at going beyond expressing emotion, illustrating pathways of recovery while acknowledging the most dread-filled aspects of it. This second chapter is planned for release on March 27 via Wild Thing Records. The gap between releases has been deliberate….and necessary. Where 'The Smothering Arms of Mercy' was written from within collapse, sickness and isolation, 'Under the Under' exists in the far more uncomfortable space that follows: what happens when survival is no longer the question and you’re forced to confront who you are once the wreckage settles. In the bands own words, healing, is not gentle. It is an ugly process. Chaotic, disorienting and often more confronting than the pain that preceded it. This is what we delve into with lead vocalist LF. Digging into the details of the album, the creative challenges, how it allows them to connect to people on a deeper level, and so much more. Interview: Exploring the Swamp - The Weird & Wonderful Amphibious World of Froglord

Since the dawn of time mystics have prophesised the coming of an ancient amphibian, bestowed with deathray vision and ectoplasmic slime. Emerging from deep within the mystic swamps of Bristol (UK), Froglord arise bringing their powerful blend of sludgy grooves and psychedelic doom. With face melting fuzz and foot stomping riffs, Froglord’s reign of amphibious terror has begun. Their sixth full-length album, ‘Lower & Slower’, was released on March 4th, 2026. Recorded live in a single studio take, Lower & Slower reimagines six fan favourites from across the band’s catalogue in crushing, funeral-paced form. Revisiting tracks such as They Came from Saturn and Green Inferno, culminating in a rendition of Black Sabbath’s Iron Man. The release carries a strong charitable focus. Where 100% of digital proceeds and 50% of physical and merch profits will be donated to the Waterfowl & Wetland Trust (WWT), supporting their mission to restore 100,000 hectares of wetlands by 2050. In this interview, we chatted with The Froglord himself, discussing the release and how it came about. We delve into the Froglord lore, the beauty of pigeons and rats, talk about upcoming tour dates, and so much more. A bold new chapter for the band that sees them venture into darker, more expansive territory, delivering their first full concept album rooted in dark fantasy. Interview: The Wonderful Madness of Agabas

Giving them the platform they deserve, Mascot Records have seen just how special Agabas are and how Hard Anger needs to be heard by a wider audience. Even if it’s an album likely to confound as many as it will amaze. Deathjazz is more than just a gimmicky title, or an attempt to dress up something blasé as new and interesting, it’s a fresh sound that puts the two genres on an equal footing. Something that we simply don’t see much in the world of extreme metal. The Norwegian six-piece band proudly display their unique union of death metal and jazz on their latest album ‘Hard Anger’. Which was released as a Deluxe Edition on March 5th via Mascot Records. It is this record that we discuss with guitarist Oskar Myrseth and bassist Johan Jamtfall Eriksen. Digging into the Agabas mindset, their creative processes, brining the madness to the stage, and so much more.
