    QUIERO: Mental Health PART 1! {ft. Patricia Pinto, How Yoga Helped Her Heal Through 9/11 Trauma}

    Welcome to QUIERO! A show about LatinX who want it all. If you follow me on social media, you know that I am extremely passionate about dismantling stigma surrounding mental health, especially in our community. Since it's #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, I wanted to dedicate this final episode to doing just that. Welcome to Part I! Our guest today is Patricia Pinto: Living in NYC since 2001, I found yoga as a September 11 survivor as a form to relieve the post traumatic symptoms of the catastrophic events of this day. I began teaching yoga in 2008 after completing a Baron Baptiste based Power Yoga training in NYC while studying Art History at Hunter College and working in prominent art galleries. In 2010, I added a more meditation based approach to yoga through completing the Conquering Lion Teacher Training with Kelly Morris, which she later assisted as a mentor, and has studied Kundalini yoga under Hari Kaur, Astanga yoga with David Williams in Hawaii, and under Schuyler Grant at Kula Yoga. She is also certified to teach Pilates, a modality she enjoys due to its therapeutic approach to strengthening, which is a core to her teaching style. QUIERO with Kevin Arbouet: How He Picked Up the Phone and Made His Career Happen

    Welcome to QUIERO! A show about LatinX who want it all. Today's guest is Kevin Arbouet: Kevin Arbouet is a writer, director, producer and film executive whose career has been about expanding the idea of what diversity in filmmaking really means. Formerly the VP of talent at Lee Daniels Entertainment, Kevin's own filmmaking breakthrough came in a quintessentially 21st Century way: with a viral video that exploded overnight to 100 million views around the world. In 2007, Arbouet and his friend Larry Strong answered a Craigslist ad and … later that day, began a 6-hour shoot in and around New York City landmarks for “I Got a Crush … On Obama,” featuring the now famed “Obama Girl,” A comedy phenomenon, the video tapped into a cultural moment, with Newsweek naming it a “Top 10 Meme of Decade” and the Webby Awards honoring it with “Top Web Video of the Decade.” Fast forward to 2016, the year began with the airing of his Superbowl ad for Icelandic Glacial Water, featuring Instagram darling, Brock O'Hurn in Arbouet’s own twist on the famous "Diet Coke Break" commercial.
