First concert: TMBG in Poughkeepsie, NY First album (not from Columbia House): Weird Al Even the Crash Test Dummies made me laugh. So, yes, I’m a BNL fan. And a fan of this cast. Just thought they were nerdy pop/rock growing up, then thought they were a nerdy dad band once I had kids. This cast opens my eyes to a side of the band that was always there but wasn’t obvious (to me). I started at the beginning of the cast and am listening chronologically (make it through about 1-2 episodes/week); am in the middle of the Maroon wrap-up so Evan and Saker will be well into album/season 23 by the time I hear this review. Sometimes Evan comes off slightly pedantic and Saker rolls with an “absolutely” when he has nothing else to add. But this is a solid cast and I laugh out loud at least once an episode—so, there’s that. Please keep ‘em coming and thank you!

I learned about this podcast when Justin McElroy was on. The premise was immediately interesting to me- so I DIDN'T listen to his episode first. I started at the beginning, because I'm a completionist. By the time I got to Justin's episode, his presence was a pleasant surprise- that's how into this show I was. I forgot why I started listening in the first place. He may have made a mistake, because every Wednesday, it's this show I rush to listen to first. I'm 23. I was raised on BNL. Songs that I've been listening to since I was a child are now completely different, because listening to the hosts discuss them forces me to actually pay attention to what I'm listening to. I'm only slightly dreading when they get to Grinning Streak, which is one of my favorite albums. I don't know what will happen once I actually think about the songs.
