    This time on The Jog on Radio Show on Maritime Radio 96.5fm, John talks to Lucy Mitchell, founder of The UK Choir of the year, a new national amateur competition launching in 2026. They spoke about how Lucy's interest and background in music, led her to be one of the founders of The UK Choir of the year, which will be launched with a fundraising concert at Cadogan Hall on the 18th of May 2026, featuring performances on the evening by the Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir, Citi London Choir, The Adam Street Singers, The Choir With No Name and guest performances by Dr Ranj. We were also joined in the studio by some of the members of The Adam Street Singers, Who performed an amazing version of the 90's Des'ree classic, You Gotta Be. It really was an amazing time.     This time on The Jog on Radio Show on Maritime Radio 96.5fm, John talks to New Zealand based singer/songwriter Zephyr Wills. Zephyr, who is a multi instrumentalist, performs with the Sinfonia Smith Square orchestra in London, but has strong folk roots to his native home town in Auckland, New Zealand. We spoke all about how his father was one of his musical influences growing up, and how splits his musical interests between folk and classical genres, We also heard how Zephyr doesn't shy away from his stammer, but rather, tries to educate more people about it, and how it disappears when he sings. in his own words, it's his super power. We was spoilt on the night with two live tracks in the studio, one which Zephyr sang in two languages, English and Māori and an unreleased recorded demo. This truly was one magical evening. We caught up with Dave, straight off the back of being voted the "UK Male Country Singer 2024" and how his year had been busy with non-stop performances, up and down the country. We covered how Dave had just completed his 8th Camino de Santiago 700km, five week walk. We heard the live performance of the song inspired by his adventure, plus two other tracks performed live in the studio and a couple recorded too. Also we found out about his Sold out Gig at Mycenae House in December, (which was an evening that we all didn't want to end.) All this and of course plenty of laughs, made for a really magical night.
