    The Handshake He Never Wanted

    How many times must I forgive? Seven times? 77 times? In Jim's case, it was not once, in 20 years. -------- For 20 years, Jim remained angry with a woman who had fought his decision to fire her and taken him to court. Then, while praying before Mass, God brought her unexpectedly--and unmistakably--back into his mind. Forgive her. Jim had been thinking about forgiving someone else, but apparently God wanted to begin here. So, Jim made a bargain with God, attaching his forgiveness to one highly unlikely condition involving the sign of peace. It was the kind of condition that could never actually be met--or so Jim thought.     16 Firefighters Riding for 343 Heroes

    "By the grace of God, I would have been standing right there where they died, in the World Trade Center." ---------- Sixteen current and retired firefighters are riding 3,600 miles from the San Francisco Bay Area to Brooklyn to commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11. Among them is Danny Sheridan, who first appeared in Episode 110 to share the many ways angels protected him throughout his firefighting career.     God's Unmarked Detours - TBH 434

    "I looked to my right, and I saw a red pickup truck. He is so close to my car that he's in my car. I'm looking and thinking, Wait, I should be feeling something and hearing metal." ---------- Three women discover that when God wants to get you somewhere--or get someone to you--He apparently is not opposed to directing traffic. Heidi had barely processed her own impossible "car driving through a car" encounter when she heard the same thing described on this podcast. Apparently, this really is a thing. Carrie's moment behind the wheel was different but equally mysterious: a blinding storm, a narrow two-lane road, no shoulder and nowhere to stop. "Jesus, I can't see!" she cried. Then a concrete driveway appeared exactly where she needed it--although she has never been able to find it again. From there, Carrie's road leads unexpectedly into a love story, which brings us to Nancy, a powerhouse weightlifter who could handle some very heavy things herself.     What Does God Sound Like?

    "While sitting on the school bus, I looked out the window and saw a tall lanky boy and suddenly heard a voice in my right ear, 'That's the one!' I turned toward the voice, and no one was there." ---------- Elijah was trying to hear God in the wind, fire, and earthquake. Which to us, sounds like today's episode… Did another car just pass through a person? Where did that perfectly placed $20 bill come from when Kimberly had no money for gas? And what about the 13-year-old girl who heard three words about a boy… words she wouldn't understand until years later? Then there's Janelle, the surfer God seemingly moved heaven and earth to send across an ocean, only to give her no waves. Maybe the question isn't whether God is speaking.     She is Beautiful Even When Broken - TBH 430

    "Who would do this? Next to the dumpster was a statue of the Virgin Mary. She was broken in half, hands missing, laying on her back and covered by dirt and garbage. And I heard the voice of Jesus saying to me, 'Will you deny me? Will you deny my mother?'" ---------- Former Chicago radio legend Kevin Matthews discovered an old, broken statue of the Blessed Mother that most people would have thrown away. Instead, "Broken Mary" became a powerful reminder that God doesn't discard broken people--He transforms them. In this episode, Kevin shares how a damaged statue helped reshape his faith, while Trapper Jack reflects on a broken white cane during a Medjugorje pilgrimage, recent vandalism of sacred statues there, and the surprising ways grace flows through life's fractures.     The Day Heaven Sent Him Back - TBH 429

    "All of this information was just flowing into me. I was hearing all the answers. This continual flow of answers. And I heard Him say, 'There are no questions here, only answers.'" ---------- Greg, known as the hydrogen man, spent much of his childhood wanting to die, convinced that God had ignored his cries for help.
