Like Talking with a Friend
07/05/2024
I’ve loved Kalyn’s Coffee Talk for years now, and this review is long overdue! I’m a little older than Kalyn, so listening to her grow up has been much like listening to a younger sister, or a younger version of myself. Either way, her podcast has always been like having a feel-good conversation with a friend. This is one of the few podcasts where I follow the creator across multiple platforms. I love that she doesn’t niche down, but you can listen to her exploring so many different topics as time goes on. The podcast grows with her, and I love it!
Feels like the 1st day of fall!

I’ve been listening to Kayln’s podcast for years! Listening is so comforting. Kayln talks to her listeners like we are her closest friends she genuinely cares for. The topics she discusses are regarding self growth, self love and self discovery.
Ads

I have tried to listen to this podcast on several occasions. Today I put a podcast on and remembered why I stopped listening so many times. There are more ads than actual content. It kills the mode of the podcast.

Love listening to Kalyn but the ads make this podcast unbearable to listen to!
I love you Kalyn..but the ADS
09/13/2023
I have been watching and listening to Kalyn since the beginning of her YT career and have supported her through every journey and genuinely LOVE listening to her! Recently the episode on motherhood came up and I was so excited to listen as I am pregnant with my first. The episode time stamp was 1 hour long and I was so happy and ready to get some good lengthy advice/discussion. I was very disappointed to realize that the episode actually ended about 30 minutes in, mind you after skipping through many MANY series of ads, and proceeded to go into another podcast-like ad for the remainder of the time. All in all there is probably 15-20 minutes of real content in an episode marked 1 hour. I adore you Kalyn and I will always support you getting that dough, but this is way too much and makes me want to skip rather than listen.
Something for every woman

I love how you can not only relate yourself to the topics that are discussed but see how others that you love might benefit from listening. The best example is “your inner child” episode. My sister and I are only 4 years apart, but are very different in so many ways. Night and day is the only way I can articulate it without going into detail. This inner child episode resonates with me with parts and I could see how it would help her as well. Uplifting work.
Refreshing

A cool water splash of refreshing, relatable and what you need to hear topics. Like sitting with a genuine friend that is interested in being present and just saying what you need in that moment. Thank you 😍

The ASMR coffee pour, heard on an ad for this pod, gives me… 🔥RAGE🔥
Not really ‘cozy’ when half the episode is ads
02/08/2023
I was really excited about this podcast when I first heard a commercial for it. I even stopped the podcast I was listening to just to start listening to an episode. I loved the topics and I adored the idea of listening to a podcast in which the goal was to feel like you were just having a drink or coffee with a friend. It was advertised as just a cozy podcast. Having sensory issues I really gravitated to this idea. I thought I had found my new go to podcast. Instead I couldn’t even get through half the podcast because it starts with ads (which I understand) but then in the middle of her answering a viewer question, without warning just cuts to like 2min of ads. A few minutes later it cuts to more ads. The episode was only 25min, I got about 12 in before I stopped listening and there was already 3different ad breaks. The hosts voice is very nice & calm but she is soft spoken which causes me to turn the volume up, only to have ads start blaring because they are much louder and over the top than the podcast host. Again as someone who has sensory issues I loved the idea of a cozy, calm podcast…but maybe a slight segue to give us a warning the ads are coming would be nice. Maybe I’ll come back to this podcast someday, for now I’m just really bummed about it’s format.
White girl talking about “energy” and her “business”
01/06/2023
This podcast came on automatically after The Daily. The entire episode seems to be the host talking about herself and working through things she should be talking to a therapist about. Support the idea of the podcast but not uplifting or helpful in any way- just the host rambling about “energy” and old journal entries.
