    On this episode #127, Le Catalyste Standalone Series receives Mx.Tactful for a weird idm-braintech-electro set with lots of validated references with the regretted Mira Calix, and some other women that strongly marked the electronic music scene like Andrea Parker, K-hand, Ixindamix and Dasha Rush to name a few. This name dropping shall easily makes you imagine how vast is the eclecticism of this set and how strong will be the intensity of the journey! Mx.Tactful is one of many to have come of age in the thick of UK rave culture. As she and her friends got sick of dodging police and bad pills, they retreated to the smokey clubs and bedroom studios that could still offer respite from post-thatcher chaos. While some of her friends had found moderate success by the late '90s, Mx.Tactful's music stayed largely unheard. This all changed after a chance encounter in a welfare office led to the release of 'MARGIN MACHINEs' on Table Jelly Dishes; a new label from Lara David aka Chekov. Table Jelly Dishes is a new home for hyperkinetic techno and punchdrunk pop, curated by Lara David off the back of releases on Peach Discs and Cong Burn.     Le Catalyste resumes with Manda Hu (@sublimephase) for episode #124. This Israelian DJ was raised with European Techno, UK Jungle and Chicago/Detroit house music. DJing in underground parties in his hometown of Beer Sheba and Israel's big city Tel Aviv. He started his own Techno label "Night and the City" in 2014 and ran it until 2018. During that period he collaborated with artists such as Robert Armani, K. Alexi Shelby, Brendon Moeller, Affie Yusuf and others.He released on the famous Techno imprint Labrynth and on Irregular Synth's label Dirty Minds. These days David's newest work can be found on his Bandcamp page, and many tracks are about to be re-released in the coming months.     This week, Le Catalyste is happy to receive Kim Cosmik (@kimcosmik) for a rolling electro to Breaks and Drums set ! Kim Cosmik started as DJ Kosmik for festival sound systems Spiral Tribe and Bedlam, playing at festivals and clubs all over Europe. She is currently a resident at Threads Radio, Techno Club, The Dodo Club, Xolo and her own event Hybrid which she launched in 2019 and she is leading her own label Cybersoul on Bandcamp. She also release tracks on a variety of labels such as Studio Rockers, Crobot Music, Touched Music, Urban Distotions, and many more... and 2020 Vision Records later this year. I'm trully happy to have her as her sets are always moving from one style to another, easily and smoothly, always closing with some Weird IDM, DnB or industrial tracks!     The Standalone Series welcomes this week a seasoned DJ, Urko, (@urko-aka-redrum) also formerly known as REDRUM. This Lille resident was active on the local techno scene for a long time and toured Belgian clubs in the early 2ks, eventually residing in the renowned "The Kiosk" in Lille. With HI-tech Procedure and his friend Eric Fetcher, they also organized a lot of gigs. After a few years of hiatus, this historian of the northern scene returns to the decks through @moicflo and Les Charades Electroniques, and now on the web-radio ECUnderground where he manages the podcast "Drink My Soul" in the company of your host and Fik. Very eclectic, he re-explores all styles: electronica, sci-fi techno or the rougher sounds of Birmingham.     Cette semaine, c'est la Parisienne @Substencia qui rejoint la liste des invités des Standalone Series. DJ et productrice dont le son se situe surtout dans l'univers techno bien industrielle, elle s'est pliée pour nous à un exercice de style, fouillant dans ses influences musicales de ces 20 dernières années. Il en sort un set tantôt ambient-industriel, rythmique noise, tantôt broken-beat/idm, en passant bien évidemment par des classiques techno et pure industrielle. Pour créer cette ambiance parfois cosmique et métallique, elle nous dit avoir "tenté d'harmoniser au mieux l’ensemble en choisissant des morceaux à la rythmique particulièrement dense et sophistiquée, tout en prenant soin de faire ressortir l’émotion des morceaux plus electronica comme ceux de Gescom, ou encore cette balade improbable et méconnue de Surgeon."     This week, Le Catalyste is proud to resume and open its Fifth year with a true underground electronic Music Activist : ADJ Andy Jaggers is a DJ, Producer, Label owner (Pyramid Transmissions Record), Events and club runner, radio show presenter. He was also records shop Owner at IQ records in the 90's !! As a DJ, he has played at many festivals and clubs from Moscow to Miami and last year saw another tour of the US with Silicon Scally, Ben Milstein, EVAC, Ion Driver and 214. He also runs the Dodo Club and Frequency Resonate(with Errorbeauty) nights in London for the last 8 years.
