Texture returns with a sweeping dismissal of all previous episodes in favor of this, THE NEW GAINES AEON (heh heh, just kidding, kind of). I talk about my history in Evangelical Christianity, delving into the study of the Occult over the past year, and how Ceremonial and Ritual Magick ultimately led me back to the basics: simply Meditating. I talk about how there's been a lot of monetizing of this trendy "new" practice in America and some of the pitfalls of how it's perceived and what it's for, and offer some suggestions as to a higher purpose for sitting and breathing, and how you don't need any of the Spiritual Materialism shit, but simply, your own body and breath. Not coming from the perspective of an expert, merely sharing what I've learned and have found to be helpful.

Conversational & Caring & Cringy in the Best Ways
I’ve always admired Josh’s ability to speak openly about where he is at in life, and I know that I look forward to our conversations about it. I’ve found his to be a voice that is relatable and caring, and I think that time extends well to the rest of his listening audience here on Texture, too. I enjoy his ability to think uniquely, and perhaps especially the way literature plays such a significant role in his thought process, as well (you’ve gotta know you’re in for something good when he’s diving straight into Rohr and David Foster Wallace from the get-go. As for the “cringe” I included in my title, I think Josh says it best himself: he’s willing to explore uncomfortable territory, and I think it’s for the best. I appreciate his unwillingness to shy away from the hard parts of life. You get the real deal here, folks - jam it.
