Love That Hangeth On A Tree - Judith Brignall

What did Jesus mean when He cried from the cross, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” And what deeper significance can be found in the words of Psalm 22, written centuries before the crucifixion? In “Love That Hangeth On A Tree: From Crimson to White,” Judith Brignall explores Psalm 22 as a powerful Messianic prophecy pointing to the suffering, sacrifice and finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. At the heart of the message is the remarkable imagery surrounding Psalm 22:6 — “But I am a worm, and not a man.” Judith examines the Hebrew word associated with the crimson or scarlet worm and draws out its symbolism as a picture of Christ: attached to the wood, giving its life for its offspring, covering them in crimson and ultimately pointing from scarlet sin to cleansing white as snow. Through Psalm 22, Isaiah 1, Isaiah 53, John 6, Philippians 2, 1 Peter 1 and Revelation 5, this sermon considers the meaning of the blood of Jesus, the blood covenant, forgiveness of sins, healing, redemption and our new identity in Christ. Judith also connects the opening and closing words of Psalm 22 with Jesus’ words from the cross — from “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” to the triumphant declaration “It is finished.” The cross was not a failure or an unfinished work. Jesus accomplished what He came to do: salvation has been paid for, the covenant has been established, and through His blood we can be made righteous before God. This message reminds us that the story of the cross is ultimately a story of extraordinary love: He gave His life so that we might live.
He shed His blood so that we might be forgiven.

Do You Know Who You Are? - Pastor Luke Taylor

Do you know who you are in Christ? In this powerful Christian sermon, Pastor Luke Taylor explores our true identity in Christ and reveals what the Bible says every believer already is: a child of God, a witness for Jesus, an ambassador for Christ and a living letter read by the world. Many Christians spend years trying to earn an identity that God has already given them. Through passages including Galatians 4, Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 5, 2 Corinthians 3 and 1 John 3, Pastor Luke explains that our Christian identity is not something we achieve through greater effort. It is something we receive through faith in Jesus Christ. This message examines three important truths about who Christians are: • You are a witness — You do not need a dramatic testimony, perfect words or all the theological answers. You simply need to share what you have seen and experienced Jesus do in your life. • You are an ambassador for Christ — Your citizenship is in heaven, and you have been placed in your home, workplace, family and community to represent the Kingdom of God and proclaim the message of reconciliation. • You are a living letter from Christ — The people around you are reading your life. Your words, reactions, hope, honesty and faith can communicate the grace, peace, forgiveness and transforming power of Jesus. Using the remarkable story of Anna Anderson, who spent decades believing she was the lost Russian princess Anastasia, Pastor Luke contrasts a false identity with the genuine royal identity believers receive as children and heirs of God. This sermon is an encouragement to stop trying to become what God already says you are. You are accepted. You are chosen. You are a child of the King. You have a testimony. You represent another Kingdom, and God is writing His message through your life. The question is not whether you will someday become a witness, an ambassador or a living letter. The question is whether you recognise who you already are—and whether your life clearly reflects the One who has sent you.
