How often does inquiring of God come first rather than as a last resort? Grow G1: The Danger of Lip Service [1 Chronicles 13:1-4] David expressed a desire to seek God's will, yet the assembly ultimately proceeded because it "seemed right to the people." Why is it so easy to pay lip service to seeking God while actually relying on human consensus or common sense? G2: Unintended Consequences [1 Chronicles 13:9-10] The tragedy with Uzzah occurred because David neglected to consult God's revealed instructions for moving the Ark. How can acting out of good intentions—without aligning with God's word—lead to harmful spiritual or relational outcomes? G3: Counterfeit Sources of Guidance [1 Chronicles 10:13-14] Saul's downfall was tied to seeking direction from a medium instead of inquiring of the Lord. What modern "mediums" or alternative sources of truth do people turn to today when they feel God is silent or taking too long? G4: The Direct "Yes" [1 Chronicles 14:8-10] After the failure with the Ark, David specifically inquired of God before facing the Philistines and received a clear, direct answer. What steps can we take to cultivate a heart that listens for and recognizes God's direct answers? G5: Specific Strategic Blueprints [1 Chronicles 14:13-16] In the second battle, God provided David with a detailed, step-by-step strategy involving the poplar trees rather than a simple "go." Has there been a time in your life when God gave you a specific path or process to follow rather than just an immediate outcome? G6: Consulting the Manual [Exodus 25:12, Numbers 4:15] God had already revealed in Scripture how the Ark was to be carried, but David failed to check the guidelines. In what areas of life do we often ask God for fresh direction when His wisdom and clear instructions are already written in His Word? Show S1: Practical Inquiries This Week [1 Chronicles 15:10] Identify one current situation, decision, or battle in your life where you need to pause and actively inquire of God. What specific step will you take this week to pray, search the Scriptures, and listen for His direction?

Does your current season feel like things are going right, or falling apart at the seams? How honest are you with God about that? K2 Psalms 77:7-9: Why do you think God included raw, unresolved grief in Scripture? How does it feel knowing He gives us permission to express deep doubt and sorrow? K3 1 Corinthians 6:19: Since we are God's temple, what does it practically feel like when it seems God has "left the building" or hidden Himself from you? Grow G1 In Esther, God is never mentioned, yet His hand is everywhere. What are some subtle "breadcrumbs" of His background work in your life right now? G2 Psalms 77:10-11: The Psalmist turns his heart by remembering God's past miracles. What is one specific moment from your past that can anchor your faith today? G3 Jeremiah 29:4-7, 11: God told the exiles to build and plant during their 70-year time out. How does knowing exile was part of God's plan change how you view your current unresolved seasons? Show S1 Jeremiah 29:5-7, John 14:15: When in a spiritual blackout, soldiers fall back on their last orders. What was the last clear direction God gave you, and how can you keep walking it out this week? S2 Esther 4:14-16: Where are you tempted to hide or play it safe, and what would it look like to step out in courageous faith instead? S3 Jeremiah 29:7: God called exiles to bless the very city holding them. How can you actively pray for and serve a difficult situation or person in your life this week?
