    Episode Two - A Quick Pickle

    Episode two! Today we discuss the nature and origin of the vinegar pickle, the curious place the pickle has in a culinary landscape dominated by sweet and savory, and share some ideas about the best way to preserve the quintessential pickle flavor and crunch. Somewhere along the way we teach you how to do it yourself! There will likely be some significant delay between the release of this episode and the next one-- Jacob will be traveling for the next three weeks for work and won't have access to any recording equipment.     Our very first episode! Today we discuss the fundamentals of developing a signature tomato sauce, tomato selection, flavor science and a brief history of the tomato. We'll try to keep it PG in future episodes, but tomatoes get us a little... how you say... lost in the sauce.
